As I stare up at the ceiling of the art room, The others yelling to one another the bell rings. I gather my things and start down the hallway. I'm halfway down the hallway when I hear a familiar voice call my name.
"Faith" I turn around and see the art teacher "Hey Faith you left this" he yells down the hall. He was holding my bag, I search my person and run towards him. "Thanks" I say forcing a smile "What's wrong Faith are you feeling well". "Yeah i'm ok" I say grabbing my pink bag with the word meow scribbled all over.
"you're clearly not ok tell me what's wrong" he says concerned "really I'm o-ok I slurred. "ok" he says annoyed. When that one word leaves his lips the bell rings. "CRAP I'm late!" I exclaim "i'll give you a pass" he says walking to his desk "thanks" I say kinda annoyed.
I walk through the door and down the hall to my locker as I pass lingering students. I swap out my things and head to class where everyone stares at me blankly. I give the teacher my pass and awkwardly take my seat at the back of the class and write down my assignment.
Hours later the last bell rings as I walk to the bus and board It. I sat in the very first seat on the left of the bus with my friend Stella. "Oh hey faith" she says happily "Hi" I reply and we talked the whole bus ride.
When I got home I stood in front of the metallic gates bordering the yard and enter. When I get to the porch I'm greeted by Grey My littlest kitten "Hello!" I exclaim as he softly rubs against my leg while I pet him.
As I step over the threshold My parents jump out and yell "SURPRISE". I jump in confusion "oh sorry" my mom says dissapointed "that wasn't meant for you". "What do you- before I could finish my sentence I hear a voice from behind me growl "Move".
I move aside without hesitsion and find myself face to face with the eldest son of the Yagami's. "REN" I say out of utter confusion. "Yes, they will be staying with us for a while" my dad says smiling.
"WHAT" I yell "Y-You don't want us here"I hear yuki say with her adorable Japanese accent. "Oh no I didn't mean it that way yuki I'm sorry" Yuki smiles "I know I just wanted to hear you say it". "I can't believe you've done this!" I exclaim.
Yuki laughs "Well i'll show you to your rooms" my dad interrupts gesturing to the hallway. "Faith help Yuki unpack her things", "Ok" I sigh.
while I was helping Yuki unpack she told me of all the the that happened since my last visit to see them in Japan apparently I missed a lot of things in only two months.
"wow" I exclaim "thats exciting and sorry I missed your birthday Yuki, but I got you a present".
"Really" yuki screams as we organize the rest of her things "yes really do you want it now or- "YES" yuki squeals "Ok stay here I'll go get it".
As I walk to my bedroom I walk pass Ren's bedroom which is right beside mine. I walk straigt to my room and search the closet for Yuki's birthday present.
After a while of searching and failing Yuki walks in and asks innocently "big sister Faith have you found my present yet?". "No sadly I haven't I seem to have misplaced it somewhere".
"Oh I have an idea" yuki voices.
She darts to the door and comes back about thirty seconds later dragging Ren through the doorway by his arm. "I brought help" she says grinning "good idea yuki" I say turning twords her and Ren.
While we we search I hear a teasing voice say "do you ever clean your room?" I turn to see Ren staring at a pile of clothes on the floor.
"As a matter of fact I clean everyday I say annoyed "And anyways you supposed to be looking for Yuki's present".
"I already found the present" he replies. "O-Oh" I say embarrassed As I approach to him to retrieve the longlost present he holds it high above his head.
"Hey" I yell standing on the top of my toes to grab the present. "Your too short" I hear yuki laugh ammused as I give up. "We wont be together" I say lifting yuki onto my shoulders.
Yuki easily and swiftly grabs the present from her older brother, Yuki shakes the purple neatly wrapped gift as Ren lifts her off my shoulders setting her on the ground.
We watch as Yuki opens her present to find a doll that looks strikingly similar to her. "Wow" she says admiring the doll from all angels "Thank you big sister Faith" she says as she hugs me tightly.
"Your welcome I say as I Look at Ren a Slight smile creeping up his cheeks. After he realizes I'm staring at him his smile dissapears instantly, Gone like it was never there, like it never existed.
