Chapter 4

It's been a week full of insane parties and me doing nothing since my encounter with Teddy and he actually did get the hot tub. All I've basically done is sit at my computer and wait to hear back from numerous potential jobs and listen to my aunt and uncle plot to "take down" the guys. To be honest, they've actually started to grow on me. I've started to sleep better and I've learned to live next to a frat house. My aunt and uncle took Stella to the park while I just remained here in front of my laptop and stared at my screen anxiously. My phone started to ring and it had an unknown number on the screen. I answered anyway. 'Hello?' 'Hey Kia. It's Teddy.' Now I was confused. 'Hey Teddy. How'd you get my number?'I asked curiously. 'Trust me I have my ways. Did you see we got the tub?' 'Yeah I saw.' 'Did you see me dancin'?' I sighed. 'Yes I did. Why did you call?'I asked getting slightly annoyed. 'We are throwing a glow-in-the-dark party tonight and I wanted to know if you wanted to come.' 'Do I have to dress up like a giant glow stick?' I heard him chuckle on the other end of the line. 'No. Just come like you want. Only the guys and I have to dress up and those who actually want to of course.' I giggled a little. 'I might consider going. What time does it start?' '10;30. Pretty much goes all night until everyone goes home.' I was about to text back when I heard the front door open and heard Kelly and Mac's voices. I walked down to greet them and Stella. "Hey Kelly. Hey Mac. Hey baby girl." I picked up Stella. "Hey, can you babysit Stella tonight?"Kelly asked. "Sure. Why?"I asked while shifting Stella on my hip. She's getting heavy. "We are going to Teddy's party with Jimmy and Paula."Kelly said. I nodded and Stella started to lean her head on my chest meaning she was tired. "I'll go put her down for a nap." I walked upstairs and put Stella in her crib before heading back to my room and texting Teddy back. 'Hey bad news. My aunt and uncle want me to babysit tonight. Btw, my aunt and uncle are going to your party. If they do anything, let me know and I'll come get them.'I told him. 'No worries. Thanks for telling me. I will let you know if they do anything.' Great. Now I feel bad.

I woke up only to hear Kelly and Mac arguing from Stella's room. I groaned and went in there to see what they were fighting about. When I got in there, they looked like complete shit. "You guys look like complete shit." "Yeah, we drank one-to-many shots last night." "Yeah. But I do feel kinda bad for Teddy though."Mac said. I looked at him curiously. "Why do you feel bad for Teddy?" "Brooke cheated on him last night with Pete."Kelly stated. "What?" "Yeah. Really sad."Mac said. I could tell they weren't telling me something but I was upset for Teddy that he got cheated on. I walked out of the room and back into mine. I got out my phone and pulled up Teddy's number. For some reason I feel like I have to apologize to him. 'Hey, I heard about Brooke and Pete. I'm really sorry.' I didn't get one back. When I did get a text, it wasn't from Teddy like I hoped. Instead it was from Margot. 'Hey, got a really hot date 2nite. Can't go dancing.' SERIOUSLY?!?!?! WE HAVE BEEN PLANNING THIS FOR MONTHS AND NOW SHE BAILS?!?!?! I calmed down before texting her back. 'It's ok. Have fun on ur date.'

It wasn't until twelve in the afternoon that I decided to go dancing by myself. Sad. I know. Besides, I need to get out of this house anyway. So, I decided to go and buy myself some new boots for tonight. When I got to my car, I saw Teddy come running up to me. "Hey. Sorry I didn't text you back earlier. I was in a meeting with the Dean."he explained. "It's okay. How'd the meeting go?" "We got put on probation so no parties and no legendary party at the end of the year." "That sucks. And I really am sorry about everything that happened last night." "It's okay. Wasn't your fault. We also broke up last night after it happened anyway." "Wow." "Yeah." We had a somewhat short awkward silence going on until I got an idea. "Hey, Margot and I were supposed to go dancing tonight but she bailed. Do you maybe wanna go with me? Not as a date, but as a friend helping another friend take his mind off of everything that's happened in the last twenty-four hours." "Yeah. Sounds fun. There a dress code or anything?" I giggled. "Nope. No dress code." "What time?" "Nine." "Cool. I'll, uh, meet you back here then."

"Hey, sorry I'm late. Pete wouldn't stop talking."Teddy said as he approached me. "It's okay. Margot's been texting me all about how her date is so amazing. I don't no whether she's talking about the date itself or the guy."I said as I put it into my back pocket. "You ready?"I asked as I got into the car. "Yeah. Where are we going anyway?"Teddy asked as he got into the passenger's side. "It's this new square dancing place downtown. Supposed to be really fun." And it was. We danced all night and had a lot of fun. Now we were sitting in my car in front of my house, eating McDonald's, and laughing our asses off. "Okay, okay, next question. Where was your first time, when did it happen, who with, how old were you, and how was it?"Teddy asked. We've been asking each other questions like this all night. "Oh, jeez. Do I really have to answer that?"I asked as I flung my head back against the seat. "Yep. I want all the details."he said as he laughed. "All right, fine. I was sixteen when I had my first time. His name was Donny Keller and it was in his car."I said trying to hide my face of disgust. "You didn't answer how was it." I made my face of disgust again. "Oh, come on. It couldn't have even been that bad." "He refused to take off his shirt and socks and the entire time he kept singing the theme song to Three's Company."I said rather fast. He started laughing his ass off. "Oh, you were right. It was so bad."he said through his laughs. I started to laugh too. "Yeah, and it didn't help that we were at a drive-in and his parents were parked next to us."I said laughing harder. He started laughing so hard that I swear he was gonna pass out. "Okay, laughie, what about yours?"I said, hoping that his was at least somewhat better or worse than mine. "I was eighteen and it was at my house after my senior prom. Her name was Kayla Pryer and let's just say that after that night, I never saw her again."he said while looking down. "Why? What happened?"I asked. "Well, when we were getting to the end, she yelled out her ex's name."he said while still chuckling a little. "Why are you are you laughing? Your first time sounds horrible."I asked. "No, I'm still laughing at the fact yours kept singing Three's Company."he said as he started to laugh harder again, causing me to laugh too. "We better be getting back to our houses. They're probably wondering where we are."I said as I opened the door. "Yeah, we should. Pete's probably wondering where I am."Teddy said as we both got out. He came over to where I was. "I had a really good time tonight."he said. "Me too." There was a silence between us before he spoke again. "Hey, I have a somewhat serious question to ask you." I nodded. "Okay. Shoot." He sighed. "I like this girl, well more than like I think. I also think I may be falling in love with her. How would I know if she liked me back?"he asked. I felt like my heart just ripped into a thousand pieces. Truth is, I actually like him as more than just a friend. I swallowed my pride and gave him an honest answer. "Depending on the girl, you could try a lot of different things. You could try giving her flowers, or serenading her, or-" "Yeah, she's not like that. I mean, she's not really into that kind of stuff." I nodded. "Okay, well, if she were me I would want you something that would show her that you like her and at the same time shows you that she likes you." "What would that be?"he asked as he put his hands in his pockets. "I don't know. You could kiss her and if she kisses you back that means she likes you too. That's all I can really come up with. I hoped I helped, though."I said as I swallowed my pride once more. "You did." "Good." I started to walk away when I felt Teddy grab my wrist and pull me back so that I was facing him. "Teddy, what are you-" Suddenly, I felt his lips on mine. "Taking some advice."he said as he kept his hand behind my head. I reached up behind his head and pulled him down so that his lips were on mine again. "I guess you like me too, huh?"he said out of breath. "Yeah." He was about to kiss me again when we heard one of the guys calling for Teddy. "You better go."I said. "Right. Before I go though, I have another question."he said smiling. "Yeah? What's that?"I said returning the smile. "Will you be my girlfriend?" I smiled again and kissed him. "Yes, but only on one condition." "What would that be?" "I will be your girlfriend if you promise me that none of your guys' pranks will be targeted towards me or Stella." "I promise. Only messing with the old people." "Then yes, I will be your girlfriend." "Good." He lifted me up and spun me around while he kissed me before setting me back down and walking back towards his house. I walked back into mine with a huge ass smile on my face.
