Part II: The Change
Chapter 15: Run
✵✵✵✵✵
And as always, life continued on. The moon slept while the sun awakened, and the earth continued to spin as it circled around the sun. A new day filled with so many adventures and a bright future ahead waiting to be found. It would be hard to imagine how billions of people around the world had their own unique life and future. Mine was not far from being found.
Everything went back to it's place after that Saturday night. Sunday rolled in and it seemed as though nothing had happened like it was any other day.
Kyrie told me all about the party she and Amber had attended and showed me the many selfies she took with celebrities. Every few seconds she would saying something like "I wish you were there" and I would reply with "It's okay" even though I was disappointed that I couldn't experience this myself.
Zach told me about his bro night which was totally and complete awkward for me to hear him say things like "...I grabbed her boo-" and then I'd cut him off and told him that he must have had an amazing night. But of course, he'd continue to tell me because I'll be the only one listening to him, since Kyrie would use the bathroom excuse leaving me to suffer on my own.
I am no longer as innocent as I used to be. (Thank you Zach).
When school started that Monday morning Gavin and I acted as if nothing had happened because nothing really did happen, but for some reason I felt like someone should mention something about it. It may have really been nothing, but I had this tingling feeling that it was something. I don't know how to describe the feeling because its one of those things where you know something is there, but you don't really know where there is or even identify this something either.
So basically I was confusing myself to the point where it was taking over my thoughts.
That moment when Gavin and I sang to each other on the piano felt like centuries ago even though it was literally only two weeks ago. Nothing really extraordinary happened during that time, really. Gavin and I hung out about three more times to finish and present our research paper.
We actually did really well, but most people were listening to Gavin and amazed at the fact that he knew so much about the country. People questioned if he was lying or not because he sounded so smart. I found the thought kind of funny.
So now it was Wednesday, the day after we presented our projects. November would be rolling in anytime soon, which meant Halloween was coming close, and might I add Thanksgiving Vacation.
Amber and I walked in together to our World History class waiting for Mrs. James' voice to boom over the speakers throughtout the campus for morning announcements.
Everyone half-paid attention to her as our teacher finally took over and started class. Before she did though, she stood in front of the room and said, "Vanessa," trying to get my attention. When she did, she continued, "Mrs. James would like to see you in her office right now." Her expression was relaxed, but it still didn't made me feel any better on what I was thinking.
"Okay," I said as I stood up and walked away
"You need to take your belongings with you as well." She interfered, stopping me from my tracks.
