It was 9:43 pm.

And the party that I was 'forced' - apostrophe intended - to attend started at 8, which didn't make sense to me when we weren't going yet, like rude much? But according to Karyn, popular people went fashionably late.

I wasn't considered popular, so hey, I wouldn't know.

Sighing, I leaned back on my dresser's chair, satisfied with how Plain Jane I looked this evening - a black loose tank top with a v neck that didn't flash my boobs too much and denim ripped jeans, matched with my favorite pair of boots.

The only reason I bothered to dress up in the first place and miss my 3-hour nap-time was because of Seth. The mysterious boy I had been involuntarily locking eyes with ever since he moved to the same school as me a year ago.

If it wasn't for him, my eye-bags would've been one percent smaller the next day.

It wasn't like I wanted to go that badly, or was invited for that matter.

Nope, I was just tagging along with my older sister. Embarrassing, right?

I knew I should've said no.

"What if I said we were going somewhere?" Karyn asked with a gleam in her green eyes as she collapsed on the couch next to me.

"I would say, it depends where." I replied, barely looking at her. My eyes were fixated on the television.

The last time she had another one of her wild ideas, we got caught in a police chase. Lesson learnt, I was being cautious this time.

"Dylan's house."

That got my attention. "Shane's brother?"

"That's the one!"

Dylan and Shane were the richest kids in school.
Legend has it, their parents bought the school a football pitch just so they could join the team.

I raised an eyebrow at her, knowing fully well from her college friends why — or who — made her want to go. "We wouldn't be going there for Dylan now, would we?"

She bit her bottom lip and blushed a light tint of rosy pink, making her look even prettier than before. I was always jealous of how flawless she looked all the time. Like my mother, she inherited her high cheekbones and naturally deep red lips. With no bumps or pimples oozing out of her face like gumdrops, I never understood why she felt the need to apply makeup.

Before I could protest, she put on her signature puppy eyes.

When that didn't work, she whispered a line she knew would have full effect on me. "Seth will be there."

And there you have it!

The reason why I was suffering from dehydration and lack of sleep.

All for a damn boy.

Never saying no to a drink before, the only thing holding me back from a whole load of overdose was being my sister's designated driver.

The young really did get bullied.

The only thing that would put a happy smile on my glum-chummed face would be the appearance of my Irish best friend.

A : I wish you were going :((

N : me too but I'm rly rly sick

Nyler, sick? He never got sick in all the years I've known him. We used to call him 'Immunity Boy' as his superhero name.
