Richard woke up early to prepare for their friendly date. As soon as he opened his eyes and got up from the bed, he went straight to the bathroom. He started to play the music from his player and danced to its tune while he took a bath. To say that he was excited was an understatement. He was totally ecstatic that even his sister, and their house helper noticed the giddiness in the way he greeted them.
"Good morning, Riza! Good morning, Manang! Haaay, what a beautiful Thursday morning!!!" Richard greeted happily as he entered their kitchen and took the seat beside Riza to have breakfast.
"Good morning kuya! Aba, mukhang good mood ka ha. Bakit kaya?" Riza replied raising her eyebrow and looking at his brother who was busy getting food from the table. Richard just smiled at her, his dimple showing and his eyes turned into a slit.
"Aba aba! Ngingiti-ngiti lang ha. Mukhang may tinatago ka kuya. Alam mo ilang araw ko ng napapansin yang mood mo eh. Simula nung bumalik ka dito from your store. Diba Manang?!Sige na kuya, magkwento ka namaaaaan!" Riza asked quizzically.
"Oo nga iho, napansin ko rin yan. Narinig na naman kita kanina kumakanta ka habang naliligo. Ilang araw ko na ngang naririnig yang kanta mo...yung ano...yung hinahanap hanap kita ba yun iho? Sino bang hinahanap mo?" Manang asked him teasingly as well.
"Kitams!!! Pati si Manang napapansin din eh. Sige na kuya, magkwento ka naaaa!" Riza held his arm, shaking it as she forced him to speak.
"Oo na, oo na! Pinagtutulungan niyo pa ko ni Manang eh. Happy lang ako kasi okay ang sales sa store." Richard answered as he continued eating.
"Eh palagi naman okay yung sales mo dun, pero iba ngayon eh. Iba yang ngiti mo eh. Sabihin mo na kasi kuya kung bakit." Riza put her spoon and fork down on the plate and faced him.
"Yun lang yun, Riz. Happy talaga ko sa sales. Iniisip ko nga magdagdag ng staff eh. Pag bugso kasi ng tao minsan nahihirapan din kami." Richard tried his best to make an alibi because he didn't want to share it yet with them.
"Hindi pa nga nagsisimula baka majinx agad pag kinwento ko." Richard thought.
"Hindi ako naniniwala sayo eh. Kung totoo yan, sige sasama na lang ako sayo sa store mo today. Ayaw mong sabihin yung totoo ha. Tignan ko nga kung talagang yung sales niyo ang reason kung bakit ka happy." Riza said, thinking that this could make his brother admit the truth.
"Huy! Anong sasama? Hindi pwede, may trabaho ka sa shop mo ha." Richard countered as he saw Riza typing a message on her phone.
"Okay na, nasabi ko na kay Kim. Siya na muna bahala sa shop ko today." Riza grinned as she looked at his brother again.
"Patay ka Richard! Hindi pwede sumama si Riza, may lakad kayo ni Nicomaine diba? Ano na? Anong sasabihin mo?" Richard thought to himself.
"Hindi ka pwedeng sumama! May ano..may lakad kasi ako. Hindi ako sa store dederecho ngayon. Mamaya pa ang punta ko doon." Richard countered as he was finishing his food.
"Eh saan ka ba pupunta? Teka..." Riza inquired as she took a good look at his brother and inhaled his scent. He was wearing a white polo with sleeves folded into mid-arm's length over a dark blue and white stripes shirt. His hair was neatly combed and his perfume is screaming all over the kitchen. No doubt he was looking so handsome in the outfit.

"May date ka noh? Bakit ayos na ayos ka? Tsaka ambango bango mo oh! Hahaha! Sino yan kuya? Madaya ka! Bakit hindi mo sinasabi sakin? Aaminin mo ba o hindi ka makakaalis dito? Sige ka malelate ka sa date mo!" Riza teased him.
"Mukhang wala kang kawala sa kapatid mo Richard, umamin ka na lang kesa maging chaperone pa sa date niyo si Riza. Tiyak, hindi ka makakaporma." Richard smiled at his thought shaking his head.
"Oo na, oo na, matigil ka lang. Happy ako kasi I met someone. At nakaayos ako ngayon kasi itutour ko siya dito sa atin."
"Talaga? May girlfriend ka na? Wow kuya! I'm so happy for you! Pa-date-date ka na ngayon ha?! Yehey! Finally, may ate na din ako!" Riza beamed as she instantly hugged his brother.
"Uyyy Riza, anong ate? Wala pa nga eh. Friendly date lang ito. Hindi ko pa siya girlfriend!" Richard replied as he backed away from his sister's arms.
"Date pa din yan noh? Di mo pa girlfriend? Dun din ang punta nyan noh?! Ikaw pa ba? Eh halos lahat ng babae dito may gusto sayo. For sure madali mo lang mapapasagot yan!"
"Iba ito Riz! Iba siya sa lahat." Richard's eyes went dreamy with his reply.
"Ayiieee! Kinikilig ako kuya! Kung makikita mo yang sarili mo ngayon, iniisip mo pa lang siya pero yung mukha mo namumula na eh! Hihihi! Pero walang halong biro kuya, masaya ako na napapasaya ka niya. It's about time, kuya. I'm sure natutuwa si Mommy in heaven na makita kang happy."
"Sira ka talaga! Pero salamat, Riza. Masaya talaga ko. Sana lang nandito din si Mommy para mapakilala ko siya sa inyo, sa kanya." Richard's aura suddenly became sad at the memory of his mother.
"Hoy wag ka magdrama! Masaya yun si Mommy para sayo. Sigurado ko dun! Kaya imbes na magdrama ka dyan, sige na puntahan mo na yung date mo at baka tanghaliin na kayo. Ipakilala mo sa amin si ate ha. Gusto ko siyang mameet. Magpapasalamat ako at dumating siya sa buhay mo. Ngayon ko lang ulit nakita yung mga ngiting yan eh."
"Hahaha! Sige na sige na. Aalis na ko. Dumeretso ka sa shop mo ha. Pag may pagkakataon, pakikilala ko din sayo."
"Okay, okay. Looking forward to that. I'm really truly happy for you Kuya RJ! Mag-ingat kayo ha. And syempre, enjoy your "friendly" date. Hahaha!" Riza kissed him on the cheek as he bid her goodbye.
It was only seven in the morning. And since Dei didn't want to let him know where she stays, he asked her to meet him at the Lemon Pie House at eight in the morning. Richard looked at his watch as he drive away from their garage.
"May one hour ka pa Richard. Relax ka lang. Today's gonna be great!"
