Enemies

I watched as the pain in his eyes slowly unfold.
This was it.
There was no turning back now
The truth was revealed
Changing our lives forever.

My heart wrenched in disgrace and shame
For all the mistakes I had committed.
Things weren't supposed to turn out this way
But they did

And I was the one to be blamed

He had given me a chance
He had given me his heart

And I, brutally crushed it with my wicked games.

I wish I could reverse this cruel thing called time
And make everything once again right
Then this calamity wouldn't be hanging over our heads.

I couldn't make him forget.
I knew he wouldn't
And that was what hurt the most,
He would always remember me like this.

A sick, cruel and heartless woman.
Who showed no mercy to his feelings.

I look as his face contorted into disappointment
There was no going forward
The truth was revealed.

I never wish for things to end like this
But it was no use
For now, we were nothing but sole enemies.
