All at once, everything drifted
We were made of hope,
But then it shifted
Seems like yesterday we had the perfect time of our lives
When promises were made at seconds to five.
Our hearts and mind were bonded together
Holding on to every string attached to forever
For us, life was filled with honey-sweet moments.
Love drew us together and snatched away all our torments.
When promises were made at seconds to five.
The future looked down on us in its brightest light
Giving us a chance to make everything wrong, become right
Destiny told us,
We were meant to be
And because our love was beyond measure, we believed
When promises were made at seconds to five.
Life now gave us a reason to smile
For our thoughts and feelings were humble and mild
And things turned out well.... Quite alright
When promises were made at seconds to five
For a moment we thought our love had entered into perfection
But then we made the mistake of hiding what was important
Hate came and swallowed us into separation
We couldn't fathom the idea anymore of being in each other's lives
When promises were made.... at seconds to five.
