Hello Wattpadders!

The reason why readers commit to stories is because they can feel the love you have for them in your words. Passion inspires passion. It is a wonderful way to start writing and it also can carry you to finish your work. You see, if you don't enjoy your writing, how do you expect anyone else to?

Let's discuss it further...

Write what you love

One of the best ways to come up with ideas for something to write is to pick something you love. Maybe it's a theme you cannot stop thinking about, something you are going through that you need to express, or simply an idea you need to let out. Whatever it is, if it comes from you with love, people will feel it. Read more here.

Write for yourself

It is important that you write for yourself and not to impress others. You cannot write for other people because it is not something that you truly want. You want the words to have a special connection with you. Forcing something for the sake of others will only cause stress. Read more here

"Write for yourself. It's okay to take inspiration and feel motivated by the rewards which serve as votes and comments. But if you aren't writing for yourself, you won't ever feel satisfied with your work no matter how many people you reach." - Anonymously-anon

Make your own trends

You should never let what is trending dictate what you write. It can be easy for someone to just tap into what is hot and write to that narrative, but the writing will show that overtime it does not connect to people the way a story you wanted to write does.

It is still important to want people to notice your writing, but being authentic can get you a real audience excited for what you write. Read more here.

Make your story memorable

Writers tend to be readers. We get inspired by each other's writing and then proceed to want to do our own. Which is why the most useful tip you will receive no matter what it is that you want to write is that you should read what you want to write. You do not have to only read the field you want to write about, but it is kind of like studying for an exam. You have to know the information in order to get through a test and you have to know what and how to write in order to finish a book.

Reading can also act as a way to strengthen your skills. Widening your vocabulary, teaching you how to correct grammatical errors and focusing on your writing styles. If you want to add in a shocking twist, then you will know how to drop the breadcrumbs in the rest of the book. The more research you do on that genre, the more you can create your own spin on it. Here are some Tips from Us...

"I think it's important to find a plot or theme that makes you feel something and characters that you care about. Whether your story is based on a situation that you've been in, another work that inspired you, or something else that stirred some emotions within you, it makes for a great reading experience when you as the writer can relate to the characters." - Kennedy_Trent

"Life is quite unpredictable, but when you're writing, you can practice a certain control over your character's life which might not be possible otherwise. Through characters, you can live so many different lives. You can make them grow into a better person, or bring plot twists which no one would see coming. I think that excitement is what keeps me going." - Anonymously-anon

"It's okay to have writer's block. You will be slumped and when you feel like taking a break, don't force yourself or it'll feel like a chore. all my books were inspired from not seeing what I wanted to read." - anonymous
