"You would do that to me, Jimin?" Jungkook suddenly feels like an elephant is sitting on his chest. His heart tightens.
"I wanted to do it for you." Jimin whispers. A frigid breeze picks up around them, rustling bare branches and brushing Jimin's cheeks with its icy feather touch. He shivers in its cold. "It will hurt you, maybe more than it hurts me. That's the truth of it, bunny."
Jungkook's temper is rising already from his boyfriends bout of confessions. He can't grab ahold of the idea that Jimin has been hiding something that's starting to feel more serious than he even imagined. He doesn't even know where something so awful could come from, but ideas manifest in his head and the core of his being ignites in blue flames. "Am I supposed to care about getting hurt over whatever it is? I care more about the fact that you haven't been honest with me. For how long, Jimin? How long have you been keeping it from me?"
"Days."
Its recent. The timeline that Jungkook knows all too well makes Jimin's statement off putting. His previous assumptions don't make sense and he's not sure if he should feel relived for that or not. He furrows his eyebrows, confused. "Tell me your secret. I don't care if it hurts me, I need to know. For us to work, you can't keep a secret. I knew that you didn't understand. You don't get it all, Jimin. You don't understand how important it is for us to be open with each other. I thought you did, but you don't. You can't hide things from me and expect us to work." He speaks quietly through gritted teeth, fuming, trying his hardest to maintain a sense of calm.
Jimin turns around, lowering his face so that he can see Jungkook's expression. It's so controlled, trying to mask the anger that shows itself in the man's set jaw. "I understand perfectly. I know that keeping something from you is basically like setting a timer on our entire relationship. I know." Jimin nods and his voice breaks. "But telling you what I'm keeping from you, it's the same, Jungkook. Keeping this from you was only about buying more time with you."
"What are you talking about?" Jungkook hisses. "What the hell is so awful that you think we're done when you tell me? I'm angry that you're hiding it from me, more angry than whatever it is could ever make me. Why don't you get that?"
"I get it." Jimin mutters. "But you're so wrong."
The taller man steps away from Jimin, looking at him through red eyes. He's never felt so infuriated with the other. Every frazzled nerve in his body urges him to snap on the smaller. A momentary lapse of silence between them drives him off the edge. "Then tell me. Tell me what the hell could be so bad that you could think like that about me! What the fuck, Jimin? I've made mistakes in this relationship, I've left you before, but you seriously think that I'm not committed enough to you now? You think I'm going to just walk away from us? I can't believe you would ever-"
"He fucked me." Jimin interrupts, ripping his eyes away from the way Jungkook's face suddenly twists around his defeated declaration. "Yugyeom. He did, and I lied to you about it."
Jungkook's heart stops in his chest. The air inside of his lungs freeze as cold as the breeze kissing his cheeks. His lips part for his chilly breath to escape him, all of it. Jimin's words swirl around in his head, creating questions and concerns that he finds it hard to voice. There's no air. "What?" Jungkook mouths.
Jimin takes in a shaky breath, wrapping his arms around his torso. He wishes the cold would numb his emotions as much as they do his fingers. "He raped me, I guess. I don't know what's considered rape. I don't know."
"What are you saying?" Jungkook slurs his question, voice cracking with the quivering of his limbs. His heart beats again, pounding aggressively in his chest. "Rape?" He whispers, breathily.
