Sitting by the logs of fire,
I think of the curvy turns my life took,
Realising this world is nothing but a lier .

At the age of sixteen I dreamed,
Dreamed of escaping this low life.
By following the crowd of sheep's,
Only to have my dreams screamed out,
When the results of fear
Were announced.

A year went by,
With my life rolling with roller coaster,
I became the rooster,
That woke by six and used till need.

I compromised,
So bad I compromised.
College to college,
I was twisted,
I was rolled,
I was heaved,
I was trolled.

Four years went by,
A engineer with a degree,
A degree without a job,
The dream of escaping,
Was shattered.
Everyone left who mattered.

I was married,
A baby was carried,
A husband without respect,
A family without prospect.
That became my life,
When my dreams were cut off with a knife.

Now after forty years
Sitting by the logs of fire
I realise the ticket that I tore
That could've been my way to sore
High in the hearts of people
Not only in the sky
