I walk into Science and sit down next to Marley. Marley smiles at me excitedly and says, "Are you excited for after school?"
Today is the day of Glee Club try-outs and I couldn't be more nervous.
I smile, nervously. "I'm excited, but I'm more nervous than anything."
Marley looks me in the eyes. "Beth, you are going to do amazing!"
I smile and hug her. "Thanks, Marley. I needed to hear that."
We break away from our hug as the class starts.
After class, Marley and I walk out of the classroom. The Glee Club try-outs are in 15 minutes and I am way more nervous than I was before.
Obviously, Marley saw the nervousness by my facial expression because she says, "Sing to me. It will calm your nerves."
"Wait, right now? Right here?" I ask.
She takes my hand and drags me outside. She stops in her tracks as soon as we were alone and she turns to me.
"Now, sing me the song that you're going to sing for the audition." She demands.
I take a deep breath. "Alright, fine."
I'll do anything to calm my nerves.
