empty words

i get a message from my boyfriend shawn, him telling me to go to his house as soon as possible.

i throw an oversized hoodie grabbing my keys racing to his house. worried what's going on, maybe he's hurt!

i arrive to his house, pulling into his driveway. i slam the car door shut running up his doorstep.

i knock on his door gently scared to wake his sister up.

"come in"

he yells from inside. i open the door slowly. i see shawn in his living room, tear stains on his cheek.

i hurriedly over to him wrapping my arms over him, caressing him softly.

"y/n im sorry" he sobs

"what's wrong hun?" i ask

i pull away, he grabs my hands into his. i stare at him waiting for him to speak.

"i-i d-d" he stutters before sobbing uncontrollably.

"shawn, please tell me what's wrong"

my voice cracking, not being able to see him like this any longer. it's heartbreaking.

he sits up properly before speaking. the words I never though I would ever hear. the three words that broke my heart into pieces.

i stare at him thinking this is all a joke. but his eyes telling me it's true. those words are the truth.

those words repeatedly in my mind.
