Best Friends?

I started heading down Main Street to get to the farmer's market to buy more food for the guys

'Good grief they eat a lot' I thought when I smelt a familiar combination of sunshine and ramen

"Sa-Sakura-chan!" A voice called out

I turned towards the being who said my name in such a familiar way, but also painful since it was coming from...

"Naruto" I spoke in a cold, unwavering voice, "I thought I told you not to call me by my first name anymore..."

"Oh! Yeah... I forgot. I didn't mean to offend-"

"Well you did when you and almost the rest of rookie 9 abandoned me!" I knew I was being unreasonable and that the guys said I should give these guys a chance, after all we have been in Konoha for a few months now, but it still hurts when I see them walking around like nothing happened.

"I'm sorry." He whispered as he lowered his head breaking eye contact with me.

"Maybe we should give him a chance we weren't always nice to him either.." Inner spoke quietly in my subconscious 

"But how do we know that he won't hurt us again.." I pleaded back split,  and unsure of what I should do.

"Well we won't find out this way will we? And I'll let you say I told you so if you're right" she threw back

"Well I see your busy I leave you to-" he says turning to walk away

"No!" I yell, he stops turning back to look at me wide eyes, "Naruto you don't have to leave. I'm closing you all off. I have been taking my time to heal, but I haven't been considering your feelings. I'm being very selfish and I'm sorry." He looks back into my eyes reading them like when we were younger and I look back

"Best friends?" I say calmly and slightly vulnerable

"Best friends!" He says beaming his signature care-free smile

"Well I can help you shop if you like Sakura-Chan..." he offers

"Yes that would be fun. You know, I tried to get Karin to shop with me a couple of months ago, but I haven't seen her that much since." I tell him heading back towards the produce section of the market

"You forgave Karin before me?!" He screams at me

"Well sorta I figure she's up to something and was going along with it, but everything I said to her was the truth." I explain

"Oh. Yeah she's very busy with Ba-Chan , but she hasn't been doing well with the training. I think Ba-Chan is going to drop her as her student if she doesn't produce results.." he informs me as we look at watermelons

"That's awful! I mean I don't feel too bad considering her getting everyone I ever loved to betray me, but she still doesn't deserve that I guess..."

"Hmmmm which one would Itachi like...?" My mind wandering off to my boyfriend

"Who are you getting all this food for anyway?" Naruto whispers from the side

"The guys, mostly Hidan, Deidara, and Kisame. They never stop eating..." I tell him sweatdropping

"Oh..." he quietly looks down

"Hey I know it's a lot to take in considering they're my friends now, but they are actually really good people once you get to know them!" I happily reply

"Naruto! Lady Tsunade request your presence at once!" A random Anbu appears to inform us or Naruto rather

"Okay, thank you Lion! Well then I hope I get to know them soon." He says waving as he disappears without a trace

'I'm glad we have him back in our lives.' Inner says

"Yeah me too" I tell her back
