Holding up her hand when he tried to speak, protest or explain, she didn't care. He was still in shock of seeing his son. Their son which he had with the woman having known only a month but still in love with her. He looked so much like him, it was a mini version of him.
"I'd appreciate it if you were to leave now or I'll call security," she told him in a no-nonsense tone as she picked up her phone. Knowing that she had more than a stubborn streak in her from the holiday they shared. He walked away, she might have won this battle, but the war wasn't over as far as he was concerned. He didn't want to say things he might later come to regret either. He was pissed that she refused to let him get to know his son. That she was lying in his face about calling him or was there some truth to it? Had she really reached out and word hadn't gotten to him.
He needed to know if management had kept this from him. if he found out that George had kept this from him, there would be hell to pay. They'd taken a lot of shit from him because of their friendship. But that wouldn't do at all if he had kept his son away from him.
When he got back to the studio everyone was still there. He motioned to Mark and Danny that he needed to see them alone. Maybe they had caught up something around that time, but they hadn't either. They immediately turned to their management for some much-needed answers. If one of them had indeed kept this from him there would be a price to pay. Just as he was paying the price of missing out of his son's life.
God, he couldn't believe he had another son walking around. And to know it was with the women he was still as infatuated by as the day he met her and said goodbye to her. He'd started falling for her in days of meeting her and continued to fall in the course of those four weeks as he kept extending his holiday.
He'd hoped she'd reach out to him afterwards as they promised, but it never happened cause he'd lost his phone.
To then find out he shared a son with her, someone he'd loved for five years. His world was in chaos right now. Distance make the hard grow fonder had certainly been true in this case.
"You didn't need some bimbo making you believe you had impregnated her. She could be pregnant by anyone." George finished his rant after he'd admitted to always having taken the call when she called. Making sure that they put her through to him whenever she called and someone else had her on the line first. He'd gone to incredible length for them not to find out. God, he could have been a father to Arthur for almost five years now.
Kate had been telling the truth when she'd told him she'd tried and tried to get word to him. Only it never got to him and he understood the pain he'd seen in her face and voice when they'd been yelling at each other. The pain she must have felt of being rejected, being pregnant alone.
"YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT I MISSED OUT ON MY SON'S LIFE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WANT THIS HINDERING US. I HAVE A FIVE-YEAR-OLD SON WITH A WOMAN I'VE LOVED OVER FIVE YEARS AND I HAVEN'T EVEN TALKED TO HIM YET." Glen's voice bellowed from the walls, everyone was surprised to see him in such a state. They'd never seen Glen like this, never. He was the easy, laid back and calm guy which was the buffer whenever Danny and Mark got into creative arguments as they called it.
"She doesn't even want to see me thinking I never wanted them in the first place." he sunk back into his chair as the anger made place for sadness and almost grief. His head shaking from side to side as he held it in his hands.
"it was for the best Glen. You don't even have any proof the kid is yours. You could have simply been a notch on her belt or a way for her to get up a step higher in life. She certainly did well if she's friends with the Royal." George said in an almost mocking tone but took a step back when he saw the glares from the three men he'd worked for, for over ten years at this point. They were brothers and had each other's back. they didn't need to know this woman personally. They knew her through Glen and if he had faith in her, so did they by default.
"He's mine," Glen told him as she showed him the picture of the kids being page boys and bridesmaids.
Realising his mistake he started to stutter his apology. "I'm sorry Glen, I really am. There was no mistaking it. The kid was his in every sense of the word. He was a carbon copy of Glen only in a mini version.
"I think it's time we start looking for a different manager. We always made it clear we wanted an open communication. We only hired you cause we couldn't do it, managing and performing at once." Mark started as he looked towards a distraught Glen. They were brothers, they spent more time together than with their actual families. They cared for each other in ways that were only for them to understand. Glen was mostly the support and the soul of the group and band. He was now the one in need of support.
He could understand the woman's reaction as well. She truly believed that Glen had never wanted anything to do with them. He was pretty sure Rina would be doing the exact same thing in that situation. they were mothers, their children came first. it seemed she had done a great job of raising him from what he had read and the short description Glen had given.
"Come on. This isn't my fault. If this woman hadn't let herself get pregnant I wouldn't be in this situation." George said, hoping to dig himself out of the hole he was in, but it only got him deeper. After some more yelling and arguing he was forced to pack his stuff as they arranged for a new replacement to arrive the next day. They couldn't lose their manager so close to their world tour.
"We leave next week for our first leg of the tour, I can never make it up to her at that time," Glen noted, shaking his head in hopelessness and desperation.
He needed to make it up to her. he didn't do anything wrong but she didn't believe that. He hoped for a second chance of having a relationship with Kate whenever he found her. But now he had a son to think about as well.
"Try talking to her again," Mark suggested, squeezing his shoulder and hoping to give him some hope. "I don't even know where she lives." He said with a shake of his head. "Must be near Chelsea if her son goes to the same school as Prince George. She'd best friend it appears with them and she works in Chelsea. It would be safe to assume it's somewhere nearby." Danny suggested, he knew it would still be hard though, so many people lived in that area.
"You could ask the museum of the school," Mark suggested but Glen shook his head. "They'll just think I'm a guy from the press wanting information on them, especially with the announcement." he pointed out and the other couldn't help but agree to that.
"Go back to the museum see if you can catch her," Danny suggested and it seemed like the best idea right now. Taking his coat he headed for the museum once more.
