Derek headed to the Beacon Hills Police Department where Noah Stilinski stood outside, looking hot under the harsh sun. "Did Deaton fill you in?" He asked as Derek joined him beside the police wagon, "Sumeri Alpha, out of control." He rattled off. The sheriff began to open the back of the wagon and Derek was a little surprised. The young woman inside looked about twenty years old, filthy dirty with brown hair and olive skin. She wore nothing except what appeared to be the sheriff's jacket. "She turned in the wagon, we didn't have any lady clothes to give her" the sheriff explained sheepishly. Derek nodded and turned his attention to the girl. "In Derek Hale, I would like to help you" he said holding out his hand which she regarded as one would regard touching a deadly snake. "I want to see Deaton" she said in a small voice, Derek checked nobody but the sheriff was around and glowed his eyes at the girl. She seemed to relax a little once she'd realised he was not a direct threat. "I'll take you to Deaton" he said and the girl slid forward slowly, her movements silent and calculated. She had the coat wrapped around her thin shoulders and Derek felt sorry for her. He guided her to his car where she sat in the passenger seat, unaware how to do a seatbelt up properly so Derek leant across her and did it for her. He thanked the sheriff and got in his car where he saw the girl was very tense, fear permeated the small space. "It's OK, nobody will hurt you" he said soothingly, "what's your name?" He asked and the girl looked at him. "I don't know" she said honestly. Derek drove off in silence and kept a close eye on the girl. Once they'd reached Deaton he opened her door and helped her undo her buckle before taking her elbow and leading her inside. The clinic was empty and Deaton greeted them in the waiting room. "Welcome Dear, come in" he said leading the way to the back. The girl followed without a word and Derek saw a bunch of old books lay open on the metal examination table, Deaton picked one up and handed it to the girl who dropped the coat as she took the book in both hands. She didn't seem to mind her nakedness but Deaton kindly grabbed a set of unisex scrubs from the supply room for her to change in to. She set the book down and tugged on the drawstring pants and top before picking up the book again, studying it intently. "I don't know what this is, I can't read" she admitted and Deaton looked horrified that he hadn't realised beforehand. "That's OK, this book is a family tree of all the wolves of the Sumeri line. Was your mother Dorothea, Magdalene or Genevieve?" He asked but the girl shook her head, "My mother's name was Evangeline" she said and a small smile passed over Deaton as he lay the book down to show the four daughters clearly marked. All of them had children but only Evangeline had one marked down beside her name - Annabelle. "That's you" Deaton said pointing to the name like he would a child. "What does it say?" She asked and Derek told her. "It's a pretty name" she commented. "Where IS your mother?" Deaton asked and she stiffened. "She was killed, hunters." She said, her gaze far off as she relived the night. "Why didn't you know your name?" Deaton pushed and she blinked back to the present. "Tradition, no-one gets a name until they turn. Until then we all get nicknames from our family. My mother died before she could tell me my name and every name I tried felt wrong so I just didn't have one" she explained and Deaton became thoughtful. "Your mother spent a lot of her life here with Derek's mother Talia. Perhaps you should stay, the place might grow on you" he said kindly. Before he could even think it through Derek opened his mouth, "If you need a place to stay my loft has a lot of space" he said and Deaton nodded encouragingly and the girl, Annabelle smiled a small smile. "Thank you" she said.
