Overwhelming darkness overflowing in my mind.
The darkness rolls in like a dreadful fog.
My eyes are simply a prison confined
By the demon's adversary smog.
This can't be me.
This can't be I.
How can this be
When I was just perfectly fine!
No. This isn't the end
Please, don't let me slip away
No, I'll still play pretend
That's what I'll do. I do it anyway.
But no. This isn't me anymore.
My control is falling out of reach.
Where is the person I was before?
Why am I listening to the counselor preach?
Where are my dreams?
They were right in front of me!
No, no, this just can't be!
I can't even comprehend what all this means.
No. I'm falling again.
The return of my fears.
Going against the grain.
Falling for four long years.
They yell at me when I'm alone.
"End it! End it!"
But I always postpone.
I scream and all becomes quiet.
When the voices finally cease
I can finally see
The fog will decrease
And I can somewhat be me
But the demons are always there
Some days more apparent than others
They're always giving cold stares.
Merely watching me from behind my shoulder.
