Finding Those Bobby Pins my current work-in-progress. The idea for this novel hit me in October 2016 but I couldn't finish writing it in a year, in fact I didn't even move past the fifteenth chapter. But this is a story I want to tell the world, no matter how much time it takes for me to get it all on a paper.
Few of you might already have read those fifteen chapters when FTBP was posted on my previous account: fanna-tastic and might be thinking, who is this person scraping off someone else's work?! So no, it's me, Fanna, and I've just decided to start anew.
I would suggest all those who are genuinely eager for this to hit the Wattpad platform in July 2018 to add FTBP to your library. This would help you get an instant notification when the first chapter goes up!

A Tiny Little Excerpt To Please You
My alarm clock didn't ring.
But I did hear someone pounding on my bedroom door.
I awoke with a dull headache and turned to my left, pulling my blanket up from my torso to cover my head too; but the continuous knocking remained crystal clear to my ears.
"Jenna! Get up! I'll be late to school because of you!"
James' voice got me to open my eyes slightly, but the cozy bed and an early winter morning, with no sunshine cutting through the window, were forcing my heavy eyelids to close. Through the half-open eyes and blurry vision, my sight focused on the tiny box resting on my side table.
Within seconds of realizing how important today was, I woke up with a joly. I was on my feet, eyes wide and an excitement that could only be brought about by my true love. Pushing my blanket to the side, I let my feet touch the carpet as I walked to the door. James was consistent with his attempt to work as my alarm clock this morning and as soon as I opened the door, his palm smacked my forehead.
"Ow." I hissed, rubbing my forehead.
Realizing his little miss, he mumbled an apology but soon forgave himself and took on a pissed-off look.
"Why don't you set an alarm?"
I stretched my arms to relax a little and replied, "I set one yesterday."
I turned around to walk to my cupboard while James came into the room and sat on my office chair.
"Then why didn't you wake up on time?" he asked and began skimming through the papers piled up on my desk.
"I set the time for 6:40 but maybe I skipped setting the day," I said casually. I picked out a black hoodie and a denim and threw them on my bed.
"How do you always manage to do that?"
He kept reading the top most paper on the pile, and I said, "Practice."
I picked up my bag that was lying on the dressing chair and said, "Catch," as I threw it in James' direction. He easily caught the bag, showing off the reflexes that he had honed at football practice, and placed the paper back on the desk.
"Did you already finish the essay that's not due for a month?" he asked, using the paper he read as evidence.
"I was bored last night..."
"Typical Jenn."
"As if you'll not write it," I said and quickly made my bed, properly placing the pillows and folding up the blanket.
"Of course I will, but one day before the deadline."
"Typical James."
"I think the new neighbor and you can complete your assignments together..."
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Because he seems studious to me." James wheeled round while hugging the bag he had caught.
"How?"
"Oh, I didn't tell you?" He stopped wheeling and tilted a bit forward to feign a shock.
"No?" I asked, actually interested now that James was being hella dramatic.
"Yesterday when they were leaving for the hotel, the guy actually opened the door again and for what?"
"What?" I began walking across the room to the door.
"To takes some books along with him so he can study there."
"Wow." I stopped in my tracks and shook my head, "Now Mom has more examples to fire at me while I watch TV."
"Why do you keep bringing Mom in-"
"Oh c'mon James. She clearly ignores the As on my report card and always focuses on the Bs."
"It's not like tha-"
"Please, I know, okay? I even asked her once to read my name and she read it as Jenn."
I took off my bathrobe from the hanger fixed behind the bedroom door and walked towards the washroom.
"Well, because we all call you Jenn."
I gave James a shrug and made it evident that I didn't want to discuss anything related to Mom, especially not in the morning.
But right before I entered the washroom, James said, "Be quick. I'll pack your bag."
James got up from the chair and used his index finger to track my classes for today; my schedule was pinned on my bulletin board. And like always when I get up late, he helped me be on time.
