Chapter 62: New Years

"Then bring it all up one at a time," Alex adds.

I try to keep my serious face up, but I just develop a smile and uncross my arms.

I turn to see Menry giving us hart eyes. And look back at Alex, smirking.

BUZZ--

"My phone..Claire," Maya spats. "...when will you guys be here by?"

"Umm...by midnight?" I predict. 

Just as Alex was about to laugh, I cover his mouth,"No puns today,  Question."

"Wait isn't today New Years Eve today?" Henry asks.

I quickly look at the calendar on my phone, I nod.

"Well we can still make it! We are going to New York City, whether we'll make it by New Years or not!" Maya declares.

"Someone looks determined," Alex whispers in my ear.

I nod," I'll explain later."

--In the car--

*Maya's POV*

"You know you don't always have to drive, Henry?" I ask him.

"I know...but who's gonna be.." Henry tries to give me a clue.

"Ohh, speaking of," I turn to Sara. "Does Alex finally know why we have to go to NYC?"

Sara gives me a nervous smile," Yup.."

"Another..LOVE TRIANGLE," Alex develops a frown.

"I don't understand why humans have to feel in the first place," Sara sighs. "Why can't we all just sort out feelings instead of hiding them..?"

"The thing everyone asks everyone else," I say, looking back at Alex who was smirking.

"So..I SHIP CLAIM," Alex blurts.

"CLAIM FOREVER," we all chorus.

BUZZ--

"She said to meet at Ricky's Cafe," Maya adds.

--Ricky's Cafe--

Claire doesn't seem very..happy like she was with Liam that day..

"Hey, guys," she plasters on a smile.

"Hey, Claire," we chorus.

"Happy New Year!" She cheers.

"Not yet, in a few hours," I inform her.

"Eve--I meant," Claire tries to correct herself and bursts into giggles.

"Um, who your friend?" Alex changes the subject. Sara nudges Alex's elbow. Aww.

"It's fine, Sara. I was just getting to that. This is my good friend, James," Claire says, as James nods.

"Hey, guys. Nice to meet you. I've heard so much about Salex and Menry," he giggles.

We all exchange giggles.

"Thank you, nice to meet you too," we say back.

"Looks like Liam decided to stick around for awhile," I observe him playing "One At A Time.."

*Alex's POV*

Well there goes my surprise..thanks a lot, Liam.

"I know that everything is my fault, but just bring it all up one at  a time. Wonder where I heard that?" Sara asks me.

"It was suppose to be a SURPRISE," I say, looking back at Liam, who gave me a nervous smile.

And now Liam's walking over here, this is gonna be fun..love triangle alert.
