Hello my names Katelyn, please excuse any mistakes that are made throughout this book. I know some things about Hayes and Nash are wrong in this story but that's only because I changed them on purpose to help the plot of the story.

**KATE'S POV**

I was sitting in my room playing on my phone. Sitting next to me was my best friend taylor, who was also playing on her phone. Yes, this is how we spend our Saturday's. Are we fun or what?

I was scrolling through my Instagram when my twin brother barged into my room.

"Austin get the frick out of my room." I said harshly to him

"Nah I'm good." He replied.

"What do you want?"

"Nothin'. Hayes just wanted to come bug you guys."

I didn't even notice but Hayes was standing directly behind Austin.

"Sup." hayes said as he came out of his somewhat hiding spot behind my brother.

"Why is it that you love to annoy us" taylor asks.

"Your reactions are hilarious" Austin says with a smirk.

"We were wondering if maybe y'all wanted to head down to the park with us." Hayes said with his adorable country accent. Oh did I forget to mention, I have a huge crush on him. I've liked him since kindergarten when I first moved to Moorseville. But I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me back. Considering the fact that he already has a girlfriend, named Jordan. She's a slut bag. But I guess she goes perfectly with Hayes' bad side.

"Sure" Taylor says before I get the chance to say no. I hate going places with Hayes. I'm afraid Jordan will see me with him and then she will send her cheerleading minion friends Madi and Allie after me to put me to my death.

I'm not ready to die.

I'm only 14.

"Let us get ready first though." Taylor tells the boys and sends them out of the room.

She adjusts her hair in the mirror then walks out of the room.

I head into my rather large bathroom and stand in front of my full body-length mirror. I grab a brush from the counter and brush through my long dirty blond hair that falls just above my waist. I re-apply my mascara and add some pink sparkly lipgloss to my lips. I looked in the mirror and smiled, 8 months in braces did me good and my teeth were perfectly straight. I walked over to my closet and changed out of my t- shirt and nike shorts. I put on a crop top that showed an inch or two of my stomach.

#OOTD was spelled out in big bold letters across the white shirt. I also slipped on some jean shorts that I probably got from Target and a pair of black converse.

I was ready. Hopefully Hayes will like how I look. Pssh of course he will.

I grabbed my phone and headed down the stairs to meet Taylor and the boys.

"It's about time you showed up." Austin said as I was walking downstairs.

"Hey, beauty takes time son. Which explains why you were ready so quickly." I replied.

Taylor laughed and I could see Hayes biting the inside of his mouth trying not to smile at my comeback.

We walked out the door and headed to the park which was right across the street from my house.

When we got there Taylor and I followed the boys to the basketball court and we sat down and watched them play basketball. They were pretty good. But let's be honest here, I was better.

"Kate why don't you go play against them and kick their sucky asses." Taylor said to me with a smile.

"Because I don't want anyone crying today."

"Kate we need one more player will you play?" Austin begs me.

I look over at the group of boys who were standing on the court and I decided I should join them.

"We get Kate." Hayes says and he grabs my arm and pulls me to his side of the court. I could feel waves of what felt like electricity go through my body just from his touch.

"No we get her, you guys can have Ryan." Austin replies.

"No we have less people. She's staying on our side."

"Fine. Let's just start."

Taylor comes and does the jump ball for us then goes and sits back down on the bench near the side of the court to watch.

We win the jump and a kid on my team named Logan passes me the ball. I dribble the ball up the court. Austin was defending me since he was the best on their team.

When I reach the top of the key I pass it off to hayes who shoots a three pointer and swishes it smoothly into the net.

Austin bring the ball back down to the other side and I'm guarding him. He tried to pass it to someone on his team but I steal it and have a fast break layup on our side.

The game continues for a good 45 minutes. Our team won, obviously. It was a pretty easy game and I didn't sweat so my make up didn't get messed up.

I was walking of the court to go talk to Taylor when someone grabbed my wrist and spun me around.

"Good game Kate. You're super good." Hayes said to me.

"Thanks." I said with a smile "You weren't so bad yourself grier."

He smirked and I just wanted to grab his face and kiss it right then. But I couldn't.

Damn you Jordan and your stupid minions.

It was getting kind of late so I walked over to Taylor who had fallen asleep on the bench during our game.

We walked home and tay spent the night at my house. As I was falling asleep Austin called and told me he was sleeping over at Hayes' house next door.

Taylor and I talked for a while and after a while. Sleep took over.

Commonly known as Kate, spends her time hanging out with her best friends Taylor, Caroline, and Natalie. But Taylor is her closest friend. She is 14, turning 15 soon. She has a twin brother named Austin whom of which she despises. She has long wavy dirty blond hair that falls right at her waist and blue eyes that sometimes turned grey. She is thin, tan, and short. She lives in Moorseville NC with her mom who is divorced and her brother. She attends Davidson Day middle school and is going to high school next year. She also has had a huge crush on Hayes Grier ever since they were in kindergarten together.

Benjamin Hayes grier- Benjamin, almost always known as Hayes grier. Is a 14 year old boy, turning 15 in less than a week. (You know what he looks like) . He lives in Moorseville NC, attends Davidson Day middle school and is going to high school next year. Currently dating one of the schools most popular cheerleaders named Jordan Griffiths. He plays football and Basketball, and is very good at both of them. He hangs out with his best friend Austin and is a social media star.

Taylor Noelle Beck- Taylor spends her time hanging out with her best friends Kate, Caroline, and Natalie. But Kate is her closest friend. She is 14, turning 15 soon. Her long perfectly straight blond hair falls down to her butt. She is fairly average height but about and inch shorterthan Kate. She is skinny and not in a bad way, her teeth are straight she has gorgeous clear skin, and the prettiest blue eyes. She is super nice has a crush on her best friends brother Austin.

Austin Lee Johnson- Austin is a 14 year old boy, he hangs out mostly with his bestfriend Hayes and the rest of the sports team. He will do anything to protect his twin sister Kate from getting hurt by anyone or anything. He enjoys basketball and football and is pretty good at both of them. He also has a secret crush on Kate's best friend Taylor.
