Three stories today, I know I haven't updated in a while so here they are :D Hope you like them, though they're short. First up, is Marvelous Friendship. This is a small, 770 word fantasy story.

Marvelous Friendship.

I remember as a child I used to believe in fairies, key word being used to. Like other children, I grew up. Unwillingly, of course - After all, who would willingly give up their child hoods? But it had to be done, because If  I hadn't, well I wouldn't be me right now.

It has currently been one year, three months and twenty days since the creatures of the unknown made themselves, well... known. They casually stroll down our streets everyday, killing off our people, and looking down on us as if we are scum.

But oh no... They are wrong. They are the scum, we are the ones who have successfully shaped this world to what it is, and no monster, despite their brute strength or speed will change that.

Anger burned in me at the thought, raw rage just waiting to be released. The logical part of my mind told me it was impossible, that I was just a mere mortal. It hurt, but it was true.

Right now, it was 11 am, us Humans still had an hour to roam the streets before the monsters took over. See, the President had negotiated a deal with the monsters. They would have from 12 pm, to 6 pm and we would have from 6 pm, to 12 pm. But I doubt this truce will last much longer, as they have already began breaking it.

I would venture out, enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasted, but I was too afraid. Too cowardly. I tormented myself with these mental insults, too busy to notice the vague outline of a small, glowing circle until it appeared suddenly before my eyes. My first instinct was to shield my eyes, which I did. I stumbled backwards into the darkness of my room, the illuminated circle following me.

When I was actually able to see, I was able to notice that the circle actually happened to be a fairy. My eyes widened, I had read of these. Fairies were dangerous tricksters with a hatred towards humanity... But this fairy reminded me of my childhood days, when I used to pretend I was a fairy.

The fairy before me, was no larger that my thumb - I had to squint my eyes to see the details. It was pale, obviously and was wearing a dark purple dress that fell to it's knee's. The dark theme suited her, since it had long black hair that matched it.

To say she was intrigued by the fairy would be the understatement of the year. This fairy seemed to give of a mysterious effect, but the fact that fairies were highly jolted leaped back into my mind. I shook my head, backing away from the fairy with fear evident in my eyes.

"I'm not here to harm you." A soft, soothing voice rang in my ears. I realized it was coming from the fairy, and only grew more stressed. I began pacing, my mind processing all this information.

"If you're not here to harm me, why are you breaking the law between the... species thing?" I asked, feeling idiotic. The fairy was floating near my ear, seeming to of followed me.

"Because your president has misinterpreted our kind. Not all of us are evil, some only wish to fit in. Which is impossible, but at least now we don't have to hide." The fairy said, and her words hit home because  suddenly, I felt guilty, seeing this situation from a different perspective.

"But what about your kind being dangerous?" I asked.

"I wont lie, we are dangerous." She said, and I stepped back subconsciously. "But that does not mean we go around killing people for the fun of it." Her words calmed me, because now I was sitting on the edge of the bed, a very disturbed look on my face most likely.
