As I sit on the bench in this quiet place,

I am just hoping and praying it's a lie.

I've already started to forget your face,

I have no one to stand by.

People from places I haven’t known

And faces I have never seen,

Have come here, to moan and groan.

Also to ask me how I have been?

How can I say, how I live?

How do I bear this view?

Honestly, I still cannot believe!

They didn't let me see you.

As I wait for the white van to arrive,

I get determined to see you.

My dad, who was healthy and ripe,

Not the one, who has now become a dew.

I start to think, what you must be thinking?

What a disappointment I must have been!

A daughter who has not excelled in any wing.

I wish… I wish, I wasn't so mean.

I'll make you proud of me one day,

And so happy you will be.

I'll work so hard, in some or the other way,

Proudly, you will introduce me.

Twenty minutes or so had passed,

When I finally saw the vehicle.

To my disappointment you are glassed,

I was hoping for some miracle.

As we performed the last rituals,

I could see that you had lost your glow.

I wanted to see, some memorable residuals,

But you were wrapped in white, from head to toe.

A thought then occurred to me,

What would life be, had you been free?

It would have been bad, I can see.

Without your feet, you would have suffered terribly!

True, as they say, what happens is for good.

Now it's time for me to move on and kiss the cloud.

My promise to you, never forget I should.

Daddy, I will really make you proud!
