It wasn't meant to end the way it did. She wasn't meant to die. She wasn't meant to take her own life. It was supposed to be funny. They had intended it as a joke after all. And at the time it was funny. At the time, everybody had laughed. But she wasn't meant to go home and kill herself. It was never meant to go that far...
Ellie shook her head, trying to remove the vivid images which kept surfacing in her memory. She dug her nails into the pale skin of her thigh, focusing on the pain in an attempt to hold back her tears. Stop it! She told herself. It's done. You can't take it back now. She took a swig of her drink, wincing as the vodka hit her throat. The drink was quite strong and she wasn't really much of a drinker. But tonight was different. Tonight she needed to get drunk, she needed to forget.
