* One millennium later*
Kasai POV
It's been so long since I first came here and ever since Koe has guided me. He's always been confident with every decision he makes and has never doubted himself. I've never had a friend here, I've only ever had Koe.
As I lay on the hot ground and think of how much Koe has done for me over the years.
I've come to the understanding that without him, I would truly have never survived.
Koe is much more than a friend or a guardian, he is my family. He always finds a way to make my day brighter.
The only thing that actually bothers me about him is all the secrets he keeps. I've been meaning to ask him about my ancestors but every time I begin the conversation, he changes the subject.
All Koe has ever uttered to say is the same thing he told me when I arrived. That my soul purpose in life is to protect the sun and keep it from ever dying.
He also told me, that way before I ever existed, this is what was done. Sun children all over the universe were saving their homes from extinction.
I've always been the type to question everything and Koe doesn't really like that.
I've learned to accept my faith and what would happen if I failed to save my home.
I was dragged out of thought by Koe. "What are you doing?" He said calmly as if he had heard nothing I had said.
I falter at first but as I regain my composure I answer him. "Why do you even ask, did you forget you can read my mind?" I said with a bit of attitude.
I heard him sigh and I began to feel a bit uneasy. "Koe, I didn't mean to sound rude. I'm sorry. It's okay I know you meant no harm."
I could feel a rush of relief take over as he spoke his next words." Kasai, you know I care about you right?" My heart felt so warm (more than usual that is). Koe always knew how to make me smile.
"Yes Koe, I know you care for me and as do I. You are my best friend and the only family I've ever had," I said sincerely.
"Sometimes I really wish you were more than a voice in my head." The words echoed in my head. I really did wish I could see him, but how? He was merely but a voice.
"Actually, you can" I laugh, "Koe did you forget you are just a voice in my head."
"No kasai I haven't forgotten, what I mean is that there is a way for you to actually see me." his voice had a touch of annoyance to it. I still did not quite understand what he meant though.
"What do you mean Koe?" "Well, you know that I told you when I thought it was the time I would talk to you about some powers you might possess."
As always he spoke with confidence and determination. His confidence always made chills go down my spine.
I felt myself getting overwhelmed with the idea of having powers. What would I do with them? Was I going to be able to control them?
So many questions empowered my brain. I couldn't help but feel my heart exhilarating.
"Yes Koe, I remember." "Well, if you manage to control them well enough, one day you might be able to give me life"
