LAI GUANLIN ~ BASKETBALL

The school tryouts for the school's sport teams were in 2 weeks and I wasn't mentally or physically prepared.
Every year since 7th grade, I have been trying to get to the girls' basketball team, but never actually made it.
This year I was determined that I would get in the team.... even if my skills were still lacking.

"So will you be trying out for the basketball team again?" Hana, my best friend questioned.

"Of course. If I don't make this this year I swear I'm going to stab a bitch" I joked

"To be honest the tryouts are a little bit unfair! Somin makes it every year to the basketball team and she doesn't even know how to throw a ball properly" I added

"Yeah but you forgot that Somin's daddy has some relations with the school" Hana reminded me

"Oh yeah...." I mumbled "What should I do Hana? I really want to make it this year!" I sounded very desperate but... in reality I actually was

"Hmmmmm"

In the meantime, Lai Guanlin, one of the school's most successful and talented basketball players, passed by us.

"I found it!" Hana yelled in excitement
"Ask Guanlin to give you some private lessons!"

"WHAT?!" said it  loudly than I should have, and the most of  the students turned around to look at me.

"There's no freaking way he will ever agree!"

"Oh come on give it a try!" Hana insisted on me approaching Guanlin

"Ugh okay fine I'll do it!"

"YAY!!"

When the lessons ended I waited so I can talk to him.

"There he is!" Hana pushed me "good luck girl" were her last words before she left

"Um Guanlin hi, um, I would like your help"

"Sure what is it?" He responded calmly

"The school's tryouts are in 2 weeks and.... I'm really bad at basketball could you give me some lessons after school?" I internally hoped that he would agree

"Yeah sure. Do you want to start today?"

"If you want to, then yeah"

"Ok great let's go"

Today was the last lesson and the day before the trials.

Me and Guanlin had developed a friendly relationship.

When he saw me, he ran towards me and he ruffled my hair playfully.

"Who's ready to get in the basketball team?" He smiled and pulled me into a hug

"Me?"

"Yup!"

We spent the rest of the day playing basketball and then we decided to get some drinks.

"Guanlin thank you so much!" I sipped my soda

"No problem! My pleasure" he smiled showing his cute gummy smile

"But can I ask you a favor now?" Guanlin added making me almost choke on my drink

What kind of deal would he want to make?

"If you get on the team, will you go out with me?"
