"NOOO! No, no, no, no. LOIC!" I screamed.

I lurched towards that cart that held my best friend. Just before I reached the cart, big hands wrapped themselves around my waist. The hands pulled me back into a rock hard chest. I cried and struggled but the arms never budged.

"Avashly. Stop. He's gone. The Wolf killed him." Nico said.

"DON'T EVER SAY THAT. HE'S ALIVE." I screamed, "He has to be."

I broke away, not that I really had to, and ran towards Loic's house. He was already placed on his bed. I sat by his side and started to clean his wounds. It took forever but as soon as I was done he looked so much better, almost alive even but I knew that he was dead and never coming back. Cleaning a loved one's fatal wounds will make a person wake up real fast.

I was still there, kneeling by his bed with my arms flung over his body when my mother came in. She set down the traditional candle and sat next to me

"Avashly, I know that you don't want to leave but Nico insists that you go over to his house so that you can sleep and be taken care of. I will watch Loic." She told me.

I cried harder and clung to his body for the last few seconds I had cause I knew that Nico was waiting just outside for me. When I didn't let go, Mother stood up and walked outside, no doubt going to get Nico. Nico came in and pried my body off of Loic. He swooped me up into his arms and carried me to his home. He kicked the door open and lay me down on his bed and wrapped me up in blankets. Then he went over to the fire and put some soup into a bowl. Then he brought it over and spoon fed me, AGAIN.

Once I was done, he took the bowl and went to put it with the dirty dishes. Then he came back to the bed and stripped out of his shirt. He had a rock hard chest and amazing abs, though most boys did in this village. Then he lifted up the covers and slid in next to me. He settled his body on the far edge of the bed.Soon after you could hear his light snores. I rolled over and did the same. Although my sleep was very wet because I cried even out of consciousness.

I woke up a little while later to find Nico up and about. Then he came over to me and pulled me up and put my cloak over my shoulders. Then he led me over to the tavern. As we came inside I could hear all of the joy and celebration. Inside the Wolf's head was in the center and people were dancing around it. Nico kept his arm around my waist and to be honest it was really starting to piss me off. I walked around with him for a while until Father Samuel yelled at us to come outside.

We headed out and watched as a big shiny carriage came up and out stepped an expensive looking man. He stepped onto the ground and was introduced by his henchmen as Father Solomon. Solomon walked around and looked at our tiny village as if with disgust.

"It seems that you folk have got a problem here. And I have been summoned to get rid of it. Well so be it." He said.

"Look I don't mean to be disrespectful here but we have already killed the beast' said the man who held the head.

"A beast you have killed but that is not THE beast." he said with a smirk, "What you have there is a normal wolf head. So do not think that you are safe because you are not!"

"But we are. We are celebrating tonight so you can come join the festivities tonight." The man said again.

That night, people danced and sang in joy. But when the moon rose and the fire died, the forest began to howl. The trees moaned and the wind groaned. Then suddenly a big black shape appeared out of nowhere. It landed just a few feet from where I was standing. It turned it's massive black head towards me and froze. Then the Wolf began to stalk towards me. It's body crouched and it's muscles were taut as if preparing to spring. Of course that's exactly what it had planned.

It launched just as Solomon's men appeared. The Wolf landed right in front of me and protected me from all of the projectiles that were thrown it's way. It got hit with many things yet it didn't die. Then it turned to look at me.

"Do you trust me?" It asked.

Oddly enough I did trust it. It was like some magnetic pull that forced us together. so with that in mind I nodded. It snarled and then grabbed me in it's powerful jaws. It held the back of my dress as it ran through the village. It entered the forest and ran up the mountainside. It stopped at the mouth of the cave and set me down but blocked my way so that I couldn't run.

Then it butted it's head against my back and pushed me inside. I stumbled along as he pushed me further into the cave.at one point I tripped over a rock and started to fall towards the floor. But then I just stopped. I looked back to see that the wolf had grabbed hold of my dress and was pulling me upright.

When we reached the middle of he cave he stopped pushing me and looked me straight in the eye.

"Stay put. I'll be right back." Then he turned and trotted off.

When he came back, I gasped. He looked different. Not wolf but... Human.
