Chapter 6

I woke up the next morning in my bed, unsure how I got even here. I thought back to last night and remembered Bill had driven me home. He had to go back to his place to get clothes and what not. I insisted on staying at the hospital but he refused to let me stay, telling me I needed rest. I told him I would get a taxi in the morning to hospital to pick up my car.

I rolled over to my side and glanced at the clock. 7:34am. I had to go to check on the apartments today and see how things were moving along. I got up and padded through the lounge to get to the bathroom. My bathroom was small but the chocolate brown tiles made it feel extremely relaxing. I turned on the hot water and undressed out of Tyler's hoodie. I undid my ponytail and let my long hair fall to my waist. I jumped in the shower, letting the hot water roll slowly from my head, down my back and to my legs.

By the time I got out, did my hair, put on some make-up, got dressed and ate some breakfast it was 8:49am. Record time! I called a taxi service and asked them to pick me up. I grabbed my black bulk handbag and headed out the door. I searched through my bag finding my sunglasses. I waited out the front for a few minutes before a yellow taxi pulled up and I got in.

"Where you off to miss?" The driver asked.

"The Berling State Hospital thanks" I stated. He wasn't sure where that was, so I directed him the way.

I hopped out of the car and handed the driver some money. I walked to the underground car park and unlocked my door. I got in the car and rested my head on the steering wheel. I was so restless last night. I had a terrible nightmare that Tyler had actually passed. I mean, I know there's a chance of it happening but I just can't imagine it. I thought about going in but thought it would make my day more of a headache. I reversed out of the car park and drove to my apartments.

It took about 15 minutest to get there and I was mainly too distracted about the floor plans to the apartment than what happened to Tyler. I drowned out the world around me with some blasting rap music. When I arrived at the buildings, I saw about 20 guys there putting the insulation in. I got out of the car and walked to gate. I smiled happily, finally achieving my goal. I was calling the apartments The Emerald Apartments. It's going to be a tall black building about 15 stories high. It was small for my first apartment block, but I was content with the size. Just as I was about to go into the gates, a bald built (like steroid built) man approached. It was Archer. He was my dad's surveyor when my dad used to build.

"G'day Abbey. How are we?" He greeted.

"Very well thankyou. How's everything going?" I asked.

"Great. We just need you to confirm the plans for the landscaping out the front. The landscaper is already digging some dirt out, so you can have a word with him if you like?"

Archer suggested. I nodded and he guided me through the construction. It was hard walking through the rocky ground wearing wedges and a skirt. He held out his arm for me, just in case I needed support. I made it to the back of the building alright and found a shirtless landscaper shoveling some dirt into a wheelbarrow, his back to me. I could tell he was muscly. I could see from his toned back and the way his biceps tensed everytime he shoveled a new bit of dirt. He put the shovel against the wheelbarrow and ruffled his blonde hair.

"Will, the owner is here mate" Archer said. The tall man turned around and my mouth fell open. Will eye's grew wide as the realisation hit him.

"I'll leave you folks to it. Goodbye miss Abbey" Archer said. Although I didn't hear him. I was too distracted by the man who I sat at the hospital with. It was him! Will's eyes re-averted down to my legs while I let my glance fall down to his defined v-line and perfectly tanned abs.

"How are those shoes working out for you?" he winked. I blushed and stepped closer to him.

"Do you have the plans to the landscaping?" I asked as normal as I could. I could hear my voice tighten as I got closer and closer. He looked at me searching my eyes before the idea registered in his mind. He nodded and stumbled to his car. I giggled a little under my breath and he blushed.

"Here they are," he started. He gulped before continuing. "I just have a few concerns with the garden and the fountain" he told me. He explained his ideas to me and they sounded amazing. We came to an agreement and he walked me back to my car.

"You're an amazing person Abbey," he told me. I was a little suprised at this comment. "Not many people would be able to pull something this amazing off. This is like achieving greatness!" he said getting excited. I smiled appreciatively as I turned around to face him, my back to my car door.

"I sure hope so" I said sheepishly. His light eyes were searching mine again. "Why do you keep doing that?" I asked curiously.

"Doing what?"

"You know, looking into my eyes like you're trying to find something" I told him. He smiled at me and tucked a bit of hair behind my ear.

"I'm looking to see if you feel the same riveting way I feel about you now" he said simply. He stepped closer to me and I had no where to go except to him. He leaned down and kissed me gently. His top lip netting my bottom lip. He released, leaving a mild shock on my lips. He opened the door to my car for me and waved goodbye. I got into my car, grinning. A part of me was all giddy and excited, but the other part of me didn't think he was a good idea. I shut the thoughts out of me mind and decided to drive to Tyler's flat to check on the place.
