"It just seems like I always do the wrong thing." Charlotte sighed as she rested her head against Cole's shoulder, playing with his fingertips on his free hand. "There was him, and then my father, who was a raging alcoholic who left my mother when I was little. He left after my sister was born, and she never got to meet him. My younger sister always said it's her fault, and my mother always told her that it isn't." She shook her head. "I know that things happen for a reason, but sometimes I wonder if there is this precedence over me that just screams bad luck."

Cole laced their fingers together, rubbing his thumb along the back of her hand. He pressed a light kiss to her temple before he spoke up. "I know you had some rough patches, but the strongest of warriors were homegrown from the dirt. You're the strongest woman that I know, and you'll do amazing things with your life." He reassured her, offering her a small smile. Knowing that she had been through so much made him upset, but it also made him want to know more about her.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, not knowing quite what to say. Charlotte was calmed down by now, and she had forgiven Cole. She asked him if she could stay the night, and of course he told her that she could. He stood up first, taking her soft hand into his as he helped her stand. Darkness had already fallen over the sky, and Charlotte didn't want to go home by herself in the dark.

Cole led her to his bed, sitting down on the edge as he motioned for Charlotte to come sit with him. She made her way to the side of his bed, putting her legs on Cole's sides as she sat down on his lap. Her arms moved to wrap around his neck, her face burying into the crook of his neck. Cole's arms snaked around her waist, his fingers playing with the hem of her skirt.

"I don't want to lose you." She murmured into his neck, her hot breath tickling his skin. "There's something that I see in you that's different from him. He didn't care about my safety, but you do. I know you mean well, and I believe you. I'm so sorry that I doubted you earlier." She whispered in his ear, pressing small kisses on his neck and jaw.

Pain washed over Cole as she said those words. The bet. He was originally just using her to make a quick buck, to steal her virginity for game. Cole knew deep down that she meant more to him than that bet though. It hurt him that he had to lie to her, but it was for her own good. "Baby, I'll never hurt you. I promise you that I have changed." He said softly, letting his hand rest on her bare thigh. "I'm not using you." His voice was silent as he had to lie through his teeth. Yet, he wanted to believe that it was true.

She picked her head up to look down at Cole, placing a hand gently on his cheeks while the other played with the collar of his white shirt. It was such an innocent act, but it was making Cole's heart rate speed up significantly. Her deep, blue eyes held secrets and stories that he craved to learn. He caught her soft lips into a kiss as he moved his hands to her lower back. Gladly, she returned the kiss, letting her fingers travel to his hair.

Charlotte never knew that she would want to do this with someone so bad. She never thought that she'd be in this situation with a man like Cole. He did things to her that she could never comprehend, and even when she was mad at him she was still drawn to him. His hands travelled down from her lower back to her bum, pulling her in closer to him so that he could deepen the kiss. Her heart was beating so fast that she was scared that he could hear it.

When he pulled her closer, it caused friction between them. Plus, since she was wearing a skirt, the only clothing that separated them were her panties and his joggers. That little bit of friction ignited something in her lower core, a foreign feeling that made her want more. She never did more with Harry than kiss and sometimes received hickies, so this was completely new to her. Also, she never really thought of doing stuff to herself. That's why Kristie always told her that she was so innocent compared to her.

Cole felt it too, and it was really difficult for him to not get hard. He had this beautiful girl who's legs were wrapped around his waist and there was friction between them. If this was any other girl in the past, he would have never let them tease the crap out of him like Charlotte was now. Of course, he treated Charlotte differently than the other girls. At first, it was all about the bet to get her virginity, but she was changing him. He got butterflies around her, and he felt like a spark ignited within him every time their skin touched.

Charlotte rocked her hips slowly against Cole, causing his breaths to become labored as he breathed out a curse word. Honestly, she had no idea what took over her, but it was a newfound confidence that she had never experienced before. Cole couldn't hold back anymore, and his mind over matter attitude was thrown completely out the window. He squeezed her thighs, gently pressing her down to create more friction. Letting his lips leave hers, he attached them to her neck until he found her sweet spot.

Once he found that spot, she was a goner. A moan escaped her lips, and she never knew that she was capable of making such sounds. It was small, but it made Cole smirk as he sucked on the sensitive skin. After that, he flipped them over so that he was on top of her, an arm on each side of her body. He leaned down as caught her lips against his again as she placed her hands against his muscular shoulders.

He pulled away from her neck, watching as a light purple bruise formed against her soft skin. A small smiled formed on his lips, and she couldn't help but to giggle softly at the light in his eyes. Her chest raised up and down softly, and he couldn't help but to gaze at her. "You're so lucky that I love you." He whispered softly.

Her eyes widened at his words, and his cheeks flushed dark red as he sat up to increase the space between them. "Did I just... I–" Cole couldn't even finish his sentence because he was so flustered. This wasn't supposed to happen. He wasn't supposed to fall in love with her. How could it be a lie if he just said it out loud though?

That's why she made him nervous, scared that he would do something wrong. That's why he tried so hard to hide this bet from her. Truth be told, Cole didn't want to lose her. He'd do anything to keep her, and he wanted to assure that the bet will remain a secret. The only thing that he wasn't sure about was if she felt the same way about him. After all, he scared the living out of her earlier.

Charlotte flashed him a wide smile as she sat up, locking her lips to his again for a kiss. He was so stunned that it took him a moment to kiss her back, but it was different from the heated make out session they had earlier. This kiss was full of passion, as if something changed with that single sentence he had said. She pulled away from him, that silly smile never leaving her lips as she spoke to him. "Cole, say it again. Please." She whispered in his ear, the blush never leaving his cheeks.

His green eyes gazed at her for a moment. She was radiating with beauty, a living angel sitting right in front of him. He reached a hand out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear before he took her hands into his. "Charlotte, you have changed me. I never thought I'd ever want to be around someone this much, but I do. Only with you though. I find myself always wanting to talk to you, and always wanting to be by your side." He gently ran his thumbs over the backs of her hands. "You mean so much to me, and I want you to be my girlfriend because..." Cole gave her a smile, a goofy smile like a child's on Christmas morning. This was wrong considering why he began talking to her, but he couldn't lie about the way he felt about her right now.

"I love you."

AAAAAH HE SAID THE L WORD HE SAID THE L WORD I REPEAT HE SAID THE L WORD!

Oh, also, I added that warning to the top of the chapter. I just put "you have been warned" because I didn't know what else to put at the top, but I hope that was helpful if someone wanted to avoid any sexual or triggering topics because this content semi contained both. Should I leave it at that or put warnings that kinda say what's in the chapter?

Also I FELT LIKE A HORNDOG WRITING THAT TINY SCENE because like I have some people I know who read this story SO SOMETIMES I FEEL AWKARD.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to those who are continuing to read, vote, and comment! I love you guys' support and appreciate it so much!
