We were silent as we drove under the rain. Her eyes are now puffy from crying. I hate to see her like this, but I just inflicted her pain.

I hate that I have to hurt her. But this is my choice. This decision would be the best for us.

I turned the radio on to break the silence that has engulfed us.

And as if making fun of us, a cheerful christmas song came it. While looking out in the road I changed the station.

Don't lose sleep tonight

As we drove we passed by a travelling carnival. It is rare now on times like these. I decided to stop the car, and looked to her.

I can promise it

"Kisses," I said trying to find the voice and the courage. She turned her face to me. Her eyes still gloomy and lifeless,"I know I will be goin away, but please understand. I'm such a mess and I'm sorry." I finally admitted.

I can guarantee

"But my decision is now final. All I can do now is spend my remaining days here with you." I said as I reached for her hand. But she took it away from my reach. It hurts but I know where all this is coming from.

At the end of the road

I decided to turn the car around and went to park nearby the moving carnival. Despite the sadness I knew she was amused of the sight, how I'll miss this.

I see you with me

As soon as I was done parking she quickly took of her seatbelt and bolted out the car. I sighed as my heart ached. What have I done? How could I do such a thing? A tear slid off my eye. Get yourself together. I scolded myself and composed myself and followed her.

Time's never been on our side

She stood there nearby the ticketing booth, her gaze quickly turning away from mine. I smiled, this quite amuses me. I will miss her acting like this around me. The love of my life, I guess life requires sacrifices.

So would you wait for me?

I pulled out my wallet as I reached her side and paid for handwritten tickets. We walked side by side as our eyes took in the lights and our tastebuds amused by the foods offered in each stool. She smiled as she ate her heart away. And that sight only warmed my heart more and made me regretful of such a decision I made.

I lead a selfish life 'cause that's what I need

We rode different rides, and played in different booths. Her smile was now radiating, its as if she now forgot what I just had decided for us. We now sat on a bench, her head resting on my shoulder.

What do I have to do to make you believe?

"Make me proud." She said somberly as we sat, I tried to hold her hand. But still she refused to. "I won't hold onto your promises. After all the limelight might require you an on-screen partner." Now she took her head away from my shoulder.

It's all for you and me.

"Just make me proud Donny, make me smile and make me cry. Star in movies, commercials or even do concerts." Her voice now trailed off. "But no matter what I will still love you." She said and finally met my gaze.
