Expectations & Realizations

Chapter One

"Karin, please pass me some cotton and the antiseptic lotion ", said Riley looking at her half - healed ,bleeding wound. "Yep!", replied Karin as she sprung from her chair to do the same. Karin is Riley's younger sister. She means the world to her!

Thudd!!! - came a noise from our hall. Karin rushed to see what was wrong and Riley grabbed her walker which helped me walk properly. She literally rushed to our hall. All she could properly see was that our mother had fainted. Riley asked Karin to bring a glass of water while she sat besides her Mom , holding her thin and weak wrist in her hand.

Karin brought a glass of chilled water and Riley sprinkled some on Mom's face...

She opened her eyes slowly and got up. She started looking through the  window as the sun's rays shone bright right on her face. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

She started crying. Karin and Riley exchanged worried glances. "Riley, I miss William; I really do. I tried not to cry for quite long now ; I couldn't bear it any longer. I am sorry...", said Mom wiping her tears. "Mom, its been 7 weeks now. Please stop crying over the same things over and over again. It wont solve the problem. It would, infact ; worsen it. I request you Mom," said Riley getting a bit annoyed with her mother

Well 7 weeks ago, Riley had lost her Dad. Yes,you heard me right. Riley and him were travelling in their car to Harver Mall when they met with an accident. Riley was badly injured.

Her Dad unfortunately , died in this accident. Her Mother was terribly shocked and upset there after.

Riley had light green eyes and brown straight hair. Karin unlike her ;has brown eyes and black curly hair. She looks a lot like their mom.  Their mother's name is Aubrey Felix.

Riley reached Marley's Hospital (my work place) late. She saw her best friend Dr. Kylie Cox and proceeded towards her smiling ; she smiled back.

After working hard for about 8 hours, she got a call from Karin. She said, "Mom is extremely unwell. She has fainted twice since you left for work and has been saying that she has major nausea and head ache. Please come home as soon as possible." "Karin, darling, just relax. Do not worry...I'll be there in 10 minutes.Mom seemed unwell to me in the morning itself, I dont wanna take risks. Okay?", said Riley  taking charge of the situation. "Yeah okay", said Karin as she ended the call.

Dr. Kylie Cox came to Riley to inform her about a patient who had come to visit her. She was irritated by all the sudden happenings.
