[Y/S/N]-Your Son's Name

"Victor, if you miss this [Y/S/N] is going to be devastated." You heard him breath deeply on the other end of the phone. "I know Kendall, but today is such a bad day for me." You rubbed your hand over the rough material of the football you were holding. When you didn't reply he sighed again. "Babe, I'll try to make it, I promise." "You don't have to see my presentation Victor." "You know I didn't want to miss it-" "Forget it Victor. I have to go. Come on [Y/S/N], you don't want to be late for school!" You heard shuffling on the other end of the phone. "Alright, I love you." "I love you too." You both said your 'goodbye's' and hung up.

The six year old, came rushing by you in a miniature New York Giants' uniform. You handed him his lunchbox. You both got in the car, and you made sure he was buckled in, before pulling out. "Mommy?" [Y/S/N] called. You glanced at him through your mirror. "Yes sweetie?" "Is daddy going to come?" You sighed, you knew he had overheard you on the phone. Victor always had a tight schedule around this point in the season. And now that it was just after a Super Bowl, it added onto that: interviews, endorsement deals, contract talks, etc. "I don't know honey, you know he's very busy.." He pouted, tracing the outline on his Batman lunchbox. It always hurt you to see him upset over his father's absence. "We'll see, okay?" He nodded slowly. You hoped Victor would show up.

...

You looked at the classroom door for the umpteenth time, in hopes that Victor would be there. [Y/S/N], was up next. He twirled his mini-football around in his hands. "He's not going to make it is he?" he frowned. You know he didn't want to miss [Y/S/N]'s presentation. "[Y/S/N] Cruz?" the teacher called. Just as [Y/S/N] got ready to go up, Victor came rushing through the door. Right when he saw you, he made his way over. "Look who it is" you smiled. [Y/S/N] quickly looked up. "Daddy! You made it!" He hugged Victor's legs. "Kendall, I didn't miss anything did I?" "You were actually right on time" the teacher smiled. [Y/S/N] led Victor up to the front of the first-grade classroom.

Parents shook Victor's hands and congratulated him on the recent Super Bowl win. Soon, they were standing in front of the classroom. "And what are you suppose to be?" the teacher questioned. [Y/S/N] stood proudly, a football tucked under his arm. "I'm a wide receiver for the New York Giants." Victor smiled at the young boy, he was so proud of him.  "Now tell the class, why you picked this job." [Y/S/N] looked at up his father. "Because it's my daddy's job, and I want to be just like him when I get older." The classroom 'awwed'. You wiped a small tear from your eye. After a few more points on why he chose the career, [Y/S/N] and Victor came and sat back down. Victor drapping a arm around your shoulders. "Daddy, I thought you weren't going to make it" [Y/S/N] started. He messed up the boy's hair, looked at you and then back to his son.

"You know I wouldn't miss it for the world.."
