Chapter One: No Going Back (Kat)

Beep Beep Beep!

The alarm blared loudly. Kat rolled over and shut off it off. Sighing, she forced herself up.

Why did this day have to come so fast? She thought to herself.

Today was the first day of her new life in Tokyo, and she wished she could have stayed with her mother in America. But it was too late. Everything was set. Her tuition to college was paid for. So was her apartment. And there was no going back.

Kat got up and took a shower. She stayed under the hot water for a few minutes after she was done, thinking. She'd never felt more lonely than she did right now. A few tears made their way down her cheeks as she thought about her life in America. Oh, how she longed to be back there.

After she got dressed, she stood in front of the mirror, blow drying her hair so that it fell into a silky, caramel curtain around her face. Her eyes fell on a necklace that lay in a box by her bed. Kat reached over and picked it up. Turning it over in her hand, she realized its a locket.

Mom must have packed it and I must've not noticed, she thought.

She opened it and immediately started tearing up. Inside, on the right, was a picture of her and her mother, one that was taken just last week. It was taken when she had taken her mother out as a special birthday surprise, and she and her mother laughed about it on the way home. The picture on the left was of her and her mother right after she was born.

Kat shut it quickly to avoid crying. She put it on and grabbed her stuff. Before she left her apartment, she looked one last look in the mirror. "Yep. There's no going back," she said as she left.

(A/N omg I can't believe it. My first fanfic on wattpad. I have several written down in books somewhere I just have to find them lol. Um...I am taking requests to be a character in the next chapters, just comment the info and who you want to be to the character (except bf cuz its gonna ruin what I have planned).
