Just Like You

"Oh no, don't ask me." you shook your head, "let's just pray that I can pass the exams and graduate." We laugh.

Students crowded the hallway, all of you making your way towards the school exit.

You check your phone to see if there's any calls or message from someone, or specifically, from him.

But there's still none.

It has been like that for the past few weeks. You haven't been in touch. You're quite worried about him because he always called you to update you or ask for comfort when he's feeling down. But you know he has a pretty busy schedule and besides you were busy for your finals too.

But now, you really want to know what he's doing and to hear his voice. You miss him.

You look at the time and it's only past noon at the place where he should be right now.

You clicked on his contact number and called him.

It took at least a few rings, but he didn't pick up. You tried one again, but he still didn't answer. Another one, but still none.

"He doesn't pick up?" Tiana asked you.

You sigh, "yeah."

You were losing hope but you tried one last time. There were 5 rings until...

"Hello?" You heard voice that you've been dying to hear.

"Louis," you happily say, "h-how are you?"

As soon as you went out the school building, you heard screams from the other line. But you also heard the same noise near you.

"What is happening? Why are there so many people?" Tiana questioned.

You went puzzled, "hello Louis?" You say but you can't hear him because of the screams.

You look at where the noise is coming from and there really are a bunch of people piling up at the area.

"Can you come here?" You hear Louis say while your phone is still on your ear.

"What, where?" You ask him confused.

"Nevermind, I'll just come to get you." He said from the other line.

You see the crowded area divide into two, like they're making a way for someone. And yes, they are.

Your eyes suddenly landed on a very familiar face. The person is leaning on his car with his phone on his right hand.

You froze to where you're standing as he walks toward you. You can't believe, after almost a year, you can now see him face to face.

Removing his sunglasses, he then gave you a heart-warming smile.

Everybody is looking at you both, but you're only looking at each other, examining each other's faces.

"Is this a dream?" The question was only for yourself but you said it out loud.

He chuckles, "no, love. I really am here. I came to surprise you."

You cannot hide your happiness on seeing him and just went in to hug him.

Finally, you're in each other's arms.

You pull away. "Let's go home?" You nod.

"How's your exams?" He asks once you got in the car.

"Don't ask about that, ask about my day instead." You say.

He tilt his head at you but he asked you anyway, "okayy, how's your day?"

"It was stressful, but this is the best day of my life now that I'm with you." You wink at him.

He laughed, "wow, I miss those kinds of cheesy lines."

"Only my cheesy lines?" You pout.

"Of course, our bed!" He teased.

"Just admit that I'm the one you've always missed."

"Who said I didn't?" He grinned.

"But I want to hear it from you." You whine.

His eyes turn to you for a second and he smiled, "I miss you (Y/N)."

You smile back and give him a peck.

"Oh," he says making you break away, "I have something for you in the glove box."

"Really? A souvenir??" Your gaze turned to the compartment above your knees. You open the glove box, and you see a couple of documents and there is a really small blue box.

You look at Louis again and he just smiled. You reach for the blue box, and examined it. A thought immediately went into your mind and your heart started to beat fast.

He drives slowly and parks over to an empty lot.

"I know how you always told me that after you graduate," he started to speak and looked at you, "you want to finally be with me for the rest of your life. It warmed my heart that you already see me as your future and I am the same with you. So I've always thought about this and made my mind."

He reach for the box you are holding and opened it. A very beautiful diamond ring is inside, "(Y/N), will you marry me?"

You look at him making your vision blurred, you can't contain the happiness you're feeling.

"I know this is the cheapest place to propose but—" you cut him off.

"Don't say that. This is just perfect." You smile as happy tears fall down from your eyes. "I do Louis. I will marry you and I want to spend my life with you till my last breath."

He gave you a very big smile, putting the ring on your finger which just perfectly fit. He leans in to kiss your forehead and give you a hug.

After pulling away, you admire the ring. "Wow, this is pretty."

"Just like you." He says.
