The stars float above,
Drawing their shine from your sparkle.
Just a little smile,
And I tie the laces of my runners again.

We're in a marathon,
Your speed, unparalleled.
I rather not try,
The gravel trips me anyways.

But your poison,
I can feel it kicking in my veins.
The ball's rolling downhill,
You're the acceleration,
But you're the breaks.

I'm not alone,
Not alone in this gale.
The sting on the back of my neck,
As your eyes burn,
Sharp.

Is it the final cry?
Is it the gateway to bliss?
The enigma lies locked,
As our hearts shrivel.

Maybe we should start packing,
Go treking,
Latch our ropes onto our stars,
Let the strings connect,
Maybe we're a constellation.

Maybe we should start packing,
Go hiking,
Down the hues of the rainbow,
and stain our bodies.

Safety gear adorn our skins,
We wear it with pride.
This might be a black hole,
This might be a supernova,
But we could paint the next Starry Night.

You and me
Make a stellar nursery,
A price, it came with,
A price, we paid,
Don't let it vanish to dust.

The parched canvas lies bare,
So pack your best brushes and paints,
Let's explore the vibrance,
With our naked feet.
