Firey's POV: (A/N: It will mainly be his POV throughout the story but it will switch if necessary, who knows)

Here it is, in all of it's glory.

Inanimate High.

The school where only the best and most talented high school students attend. The school where the people here would witness these high school students being offered jobs in some of the best industries even before they graduate. The dream school of all the children in town.

People named it the "School Of Hope".

Ever since I was little, just like most of my fellow classmates in elementary and middle school, I've been wanting to go to this school, after seeing many of the alumnus becoming so famous not just in this town, but even internationally.

I vividly recalled how I used to stand in front of the gigantic, looming building as the young boy I used to be, inevitably feeling intimidated by the size of the school campus, but also have that sense of childish eagerness and determination to secure a place in Inanimate High.

And here I was. Standing right in front of the building itself. Clutching tightly to the invitation letter, sealed in an envelope with a red wax stamp of the school logo, as if it was a piece of treasure I would never let go of. I had safekept it for the whole month until the new school year had begun.

I unfolded the letter gingerly and read its contents again, for probably the billionth time.

Dear Firey Scorch:

Congratulations! You have been accepted into Inanimate High! Your talent is the Super Inanimate Level Lucky Student. We look forward in seeing you on the orientation day!

Regards,
The Headmaster of Inanimate High

It was a common tradition of the school that each year, during the application period, besides the students with talents that were accepted into the school only one student had been selected by a lottery from the thousands of ordinary students who had applied for a spot in the school. Because of this lottery, which also symbolises an attempt to try one's luck out, that one student would be named as the Super Inanimate Level Lucky Student.

This year, that student... was me.

I wasn't really talented in any way, not even in luck. And I still got selected. It had to be a miracle. I couldn't believe it. Even after all that praise from my family and envious schoolmates who heard about the good news, I still felt as if I was in my own dream world.

But this wasn't some fictional thing. It was real.

I felt a shiver run down my spine, seeing the beautiful cursive words on the paper, written in black ink. Was this the work of a student who specialised in calligraphy? There was no way a normal person could write that well.

I stared long and hard at the building and finally decided to step in. Alright, Firey, you've got this, I gave myself a pep talk. First day in Inanimate High, here I come!

As I entered through the gates, I smelled a faint smell of nectar. Must be the hundreds of flower plants here.

However, the minute my foot entered the doorway, I knew that something was wrong. I suddenly felt extremely giddy. I tried to shake the feeling off but it got worse. My vision began to blur and darken. I felt my legs give way, turning into jelly. I was starting to lose consciousness. Every inhale I took of that sweet smell only made the dizziness worse. What has that scent done to me?

I swayed and fell onto the ground, breathing heavily. What was happening? This was my first day at this prestigious school, and I already felt sick. Great job, Firey.

I barely managed to hear faint footsteps heading towards my direction, before everything went black.
