So a quick head's up, I changed the title to The Art of Deceit. The reason being for the past 6 years it's been rather annoying hearing or partially being accused of ripping off Cruel Intentions. That happens to be my favorite movie and I can quote it like the back of my hand. In 2011 in the Deceitful Intent Extras I broke down how this book and that film are different, and I will more than likely do it again when I repost them.
I'm always honest about where my inspo comes from, e.g., Playin' Hard being inspired by two songs, Take This to the Grave being inspired by a song, and The Uncertainty of Fortune Cookies being inspired by Shakespeare & 10 Things I Hate About You
With books like Resisting Rhys and DI, on one hand it's cool to have the comparison for publishing reasons as I would need comparable titles, but on another, the comments from readers are accusatory "This is literally_______." And I hate that, because like RR came from me mocking a trend Wattpad had in 2011, and DI came from wanting to have two characters who are just ruthless and sociopathic to an extent, and I can literally break down the differences, because at this point in the novel you'd see that Alyson is NOT Vivian and Evan's Annette, but much more their Cecile. This novel is about payback / revenge, Cruel Intentions was about a wager. Also at 66k into the story we'd be done by now because there wasn't much depth or character development in the first Cruel Intentions.
As far as chapter 23 being posted, I've been working on it for like a week now, I will finish, eventually lol
