"I CAN NEVER bring myself to understand why you hate him so much," chaeyoung stated as she pushed material under the needle of the sewing machine. "he's a nice, handsome man from a rich family. he doesn't seem mean."

jennie sighed, laying back on her bed in her robe. "that's what he shows everyone. but truly, he acts as if he were a child. even kyla is more mature than him. you'd think that he'd be better."

chaeyoung lifted her foot from the petal and looked over at the older. park chaeyoung was a worker for the royal family as a clothing designer. her father is the royal designer, so she lives in the palace as well. at the age of twenty, she was very experienced and did exceptionally well with her work, majoring in large, sparkly dresses that either jennie or her sisters would wear.

"well i mean," chaeyoung grinned, tilting her head. "if you won't have him, i will. think you can hook us up?"

princess jennie laughed loudly.

"if you want him, you'll have to ask my father first."

"eh. it was worth a shot." and the girl got back to her work.

jennie had chaeyoung working on fixing a dress that had been ruined the day before by the one and only, prince jeon jungkook. jennie was minding her business and walking down the hallways to find her sisters who were waiting for her outside when the cocky prince walked up behind her and stepped on her dress while trying to bother her. she was infuriated, yelling curses and nonsense at him before stomping away.

"what was he bothering you for anyway?" the young worker perked up, wincing mid-sentence when the needle ran over her finger. she placed it in her mouth and whined. jennie stood and walked to her personal bathroom.

"he said, if i'm going to be his wife, i must be protected at all times and mustn't have a scar on my body! i believe he's been looking all over the country for a personal guard, which is angering. i can take care of myself, right?" the royal blood settled herself next to her bestfriend, wrapping a bandage around the girl's finger and mocking the young prince.

chaeyoung thanked the princess and hummed in thought, "well, you're princess who majors in academics and dancing and has never had a class about self-defense what's-so-ever, so yeah, i would say so."

jennie glared, and chaeyoung got back to work.

"SO JUNGKOOK, still enjoying your time at the palace? you've been here for how long? a year and a half now?" the king kim said joyously, taking a sip out of his glass of wine.

"of course, your highness. although i've been here a while, i cannot find myself bored at any minute of the day! i am thankful you have invited me to stay here until princess jennie and i marry." jungkook said with his head high and a large smirk.

"how is it going with jennie. is she still as bratty as when you first met?"

"yes," jennie spoke. "please keep acting as if i'm not here."

kyla, yewon, and minkyung broke out into a fit of giggles and jennie got a glare from the king. but she knew her father only meant it jokingly. "now, jennie. be nice."

"of course, father." she bowed her head in apology.

"yes, princess jennie and i do have our moments, but she is beautiful and lovely nevertheless. i am very much in love with her and her heartiness. i hope she thinks of me the same way."

one of the maids on standby, jennie's friend kim jisoo, choked on her spit and covered her mouth to stop from laughing. jennie looked over and gave her a look, causing her to bow and move away into the kitchen.

the royal family was having dinner together, like they did every night. jennie's three step-mothers and three siblings sitting around her, and prince jungkook across her. at the head of the table was king kim, a large and round man with wise eyes. after dinner was finished, jennie was dismissed from the table and headed down the hall towards her bedroom, absolutely worn out from doing nothing all day.

"there you are, my princess." jungkook smiled as he leaned on the doors of jennie's room. "ate well?"

jennie couldn't help but sigh, crossing her arms and nodding. "of course, prince jungkook. thank you for seeming at least a little bit interested." she tried to push past him to enter her room, but he only blocked the way more. she wanted to slam her head against the doorknob.

"oh come on, we've barely spoken all day. i understand you're upset with me about your dress, let me apologize–,"

jennie was beginning to grow a headache from how loud the good-for-nothing prince spoke. she cut him off with a, "fine. go ahead and hurry."

"–with a kiss."

"excuse me?" jennie was twirled and pressed against the door, jungkook's hands falling to her waist as he towered above her. she was only five feet and four inches, and terribly intimidated by anyone or anything taller. jungkook caressed her face, placing the palm of his warm hand against her cheek.

"hey! what are you–,"

"shh, my princess. i'm so sorry for ruining your dress. let me make it up to you." the male began to lean in close, their noses touching before someone cleared their throat and a voice spoke up.

"uuuuhhhhhh... bad time?" princess kyla said and stood with wide eyes, looking back and forth between the two. the sixteen year old obviously seemed flustered with the scene and wondered if she should cover her eyes or not.

jennie cocked her head to look at her youngest sister, "no! not at all! my favorite sister, it slipped my mind that i told you to visit me after dinner!" the elder broke through jungkook's arms and embraced her sister tightly, mumbling a, "i love you. thank you. i owe you," in her ear.

"now, if you'll excuse us, prince jungkook, we are very busy princesses."
