"We've got to stop meeting up like this," Archie smiled when Luna got out the car, she could tell there was a hint of another emotion in his eyes, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

She leaned the car door and crossed her arms, "So you're not surprised I'm back?"

"Absolutely not," he shook his head, brushing himself off. "also thanks for asking I'm totally okay."

"You would've survived," Luna rolled her eyes comically. "but why aren't you surprised?"

Archie laughed, "You're extremely predictable Luna Martinez, and-"

He was about to say something else when his phone rang.

While he looked down at his phone she took this opportunity to truly examine Archie's features. Under his eyes were dark and she swore she could see a faint blood stain on his shirt.

His hair was messy and his eyes now looked a bit frantic, but there was still that mystery emotion lying there.

He hung up his phone and Luna adjusted her posture and Archie smiled at her once again, "Why are you in town?"

"Tow-oh, yeah. Okay. I'm visiting a friend," Luna nodded.

"A friend? What's so special about them that you can visit them but not us?" Archie asked, faking jealousy.

"She's an old childhood friend, and I get to see her for the first time in about 7 to 9 years after she checked into a rehabilitation center for her numerous mental illnesses."

There was a moment of silence, "Well, I think that seems like reason enough."

Luna snorted, "You're an idiot."

Archie smiled, "It's what I do best."

Luna was going to continue the conversation when they were interrupted again by a fast approaching voice.

"Hey, Archie-kins, how about we-"

Veronica stopped in her tracks right next to Archie, frozen in place.

She stayed there for what felt like a few minutes before suddenly jumping up and down joyously.

She ran as best as she could in her Louis Vuitton heels to Luna and hugged her so hard she cut off her breathing.

"Luna!" she practically screamed.

She gazed into the car she was leaning on, "Hey, Ms. Martinez!"

Ophelia scoffed, "Please, call me Ophelia."

Archie smiled, "Hi, Ms - Ophelia, didn't notice you were there, sorry."

"Don't worry about it," she laughed and Archie looked to Luna again who made gestures to Veronica to insinuate how happy she was that they were dating.

Veronica turned around and looked at Luna again before hugging her again for a long time.

"Oh my god if you hug me longer you might give me brain damage," Luna strained.

Veronica pulled back, "Brain damage? From a hug?"

"Well, you're cutting off my oxygen and killing my brain cells so obviously I'm gonna have some brain damage."

Veronica scoffed, "A science joke? Really?"

Luna shrugged, "What can I say, the human body interests me."

"Oh, she's here for her friend. An important friend," Archie chimed in.

"We aren't important?" Veronica frowned and Luna smiled.

"Long story."

"Well we'll have to catch up sometime," Veronica laughed.

"Maybe over a milkshake at Pop's?" Luna suggested but frowned when the tension in the air seemed to rise dramatically.

"Probably not, actually, I'm gonna be pretty busy for the next...while. For a while, I guess," Archie rambled a bit and Luna took a deep breath.

"Same, I'm gonna be busy," Veronica nodded. "anyways, we should now, Arch."

Archie nodded, "Yeah we should."

"Okay, see you guys soon, hopefully," Luna nodded and Archie waved while Veronica gave her yet another hug.

Ophelia turned down the window, "Are you guys leaving now?"

Veronica leaned down, "Yes, actually."

"Well how about I drive you guys?"

Veronica looked back to Archie who shook his head, they were going to the hospital and that would be suspicious.

Veronica turned back and bit her lip, knowing that turning the offer down would be even more questionable because everyone knew that Veronica chose to not walk if she ever had an option.

"Yes, thank you so much!"

Archie stuttered, "We-um, we have Vegas, though."

He gestured to the dog snigging the flowers a few yard behind them and Luna cooed, immediately rushing over to an excited Vegas.

Ophelia waved her hand in dismissal, "It's no problem. I could clean the car, but I wouldn't want Veronica to walk in heels, you're at the edge of town for god's sake!"

Archie chuckled, "We walked a while, I guess."

"You think?" Ophelia smiled. "come on, get in."

And so, after a few minutes of tearing Luna away from Vegas they ended up in the car.

Ophelia driving, Vegas in the front seat, and the three amigos in the back seats.

It was a bit uncomfortable for Luna, considering she was in the middle, but she ignored that feeling and talked with her friends.

They laughed and smiled so much and Luna could not have been more content.

The entire time, neither Archie nor Veronica even mentioned everything that was happening.

Luna didn't know about Jughead and the Serpents or his foster home, the fact that Archie's dad had been shot, he was suffering from slight PTSD and insomnia, or that his mom was in town.

And speaking of parents in town, she didn't know that Veronica's dad was in Riverdale or that Cheryl had burned down her home and hurt her mother in the process.

But let's not forget Betty. Of course, no one knew this yet, but Luna did have a run in with a soon to be familiar face.

Let's just say Luna is more intertwined with the Coopers than she knows.

But this would all come to light sooner or later, but you'll have to wait for that time to come.
