you toss,
you turn,
they sleep,
soundly and quiet

your breath hitches,
tears start to spill
your throat hurts
and they sleep

you wake up,
your back aching,
you look at your reflection,
you see how dark your eyes are

you leave to connect with the society,
you smile and say things to them
you do "normal" things
while your glasses hide your dark eyes

you come home,
and disappear,
you lock the door
but who noticed?

you pull out the sharp tool,
it hovered above your thigh
though it wasn't a strong blade,
it's all you really could get

you wonder why you do this?
you don't have a reason to
yet you feel so,
hollow and empty inside

it dug into your skin,
and you felt pain,
but overtime you learned,
pain is why you're doing this

you said pain,
should be embraced,
you stood up and left
you smiled at everyone yet again

you toss,
you turn,
they sleep,
soundly and quiet

your breath hitches,
tears start to spill
your throat hurts
and they sleep
