Taylor's POV:
It was a crisp day, about a week later, when I decided that keeping myself company wasn't doing any favours for my lost mind. I sighed and even though the words Rhys had spoken to me had lifted my mood, I still didn't trust myself alone. I grabbed my coat and my furry boots and threw my keys in the plant pot next to my house, never bothering to take them with me anymore. As I walked out to the drive, mum pulled up. "Where you going?" She shouted. I ignored her shouts and walked on. I decided that I didn't want much to do with her anymore, so she just gave up and walked inside.
I strode down the main road and came up to Rhys' road, and walked down to number 7, his house. I smiled and knocked on the door, and was met by his mum. "Oh, Taylor! Lovely to see you. It's been a little while." She said happily.
"Hello, um. Is Rhys he-" I was cut off by the soft sound of a guitar strum, followed by an almost angelic voice singing 'Kiss Me' by Ed Sheeran. I sighed breathless as Susan smiled.
"Guess you didn't know about Rhys' voice, did you?"
"N-no." I shook my head. "He's amazing."
"I know" she said proudly. "Come on in, he's in the study. First door to the left as you go around the banister. Follow the sound. I'll make some tea."
"Thank you." I smiled and walked up stairs as she continued to the kitchen. I slowly climbed the stairs and walked into the room, where Rhys sat crossed legged on the chest by the window, facing the outside world while singing, his back facing me. I sighed as I listened. He messed up a chord and started again, still not noticing my presence.
Settle down with me,
Cover me up,
Cuddle me in.
Lie down with me and hold me in your arms.
And your hearts against my chest,
Lips pressed to my neck,
I'm falling for your eyes, but they don't know me yet,
And with this feeling I forget,
I'm in love now.
I smiled at his voice and the way he stretched the words out a little more than the original, putting his own little twist into the song. I watched him play and his bare back moved as he strum his guitar. His tracksuit bottoms sat dangerously low on his hips, and all I could think was how beautiful he was. His short brown curls were now held back with a bandana, as he had stopped blow drying it as much now, and I couldn't help but smile. This stunning creature was mine.
Kiss me like you want to be loved.
wanna be loved
Wanna be loved.
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love.
We're falling in love.
I walked over to him slowly, carefully almost. Like every word he sung was fragile and I could break them.
Settle down with me,
I'll be your safety,
You'll be my lady,
I was made to keep your body warm,
But I'm cold as the wind blows so
Hold me in your arms.
Oh no.
I paused. As he hit that note, shivers raced down my spine, sending me into a trance. I stood millimetres away from his body, yet couldn't take another step towards Rees.
