(JIKOOK) Texting Story Snippets

Need

Jimin watches his boyfriend, taken back by the words spoken to him. He'd expected for Jungkook to close himself off, to push his own worries down and to cater to him instead. To drive himself crazy with worry. Jimin had been concerned before about having to pry out Jungkook's thoughts and feelings later on, a struggle he really assumed he'd have to endure, but now it's all being handed to him with ease. He nods, taking the offer. "That makes sense. When did you get so intellectual?"

"I had a talk with Namjoon hyung." Jungkook shakes his head. "Or rather, he had a talk with me."

"About me?"

"About us."

"When?"

Jungkook bites his bottom lip. He hums. "When you were gone. When I wasn't in a good state of mind and he was trying to help me."

"Did he help you, your state of mind?"

The question is heavy, pointed. It tells the taller that Jimin is ready to talk, to conquer the mountain of emotions they're going to journey through together. Jungkook shuffles closer to his boyfriend, tucking his nose into the gap between Jimin's chin and chest. The tension left in his body withers away when the smallers arm leaves his waist to circle his shoulders. He's not used to being embraced this way, but it's comforting. It's soft. He can feel Jimin's care in his slow and steady caresses against his back. He doesn't answer right away, letting himself fall into the vulnerability he knows he can't pretend doesn't exist anymore. "He really tried, but it was like I couldn't hear him until now. All I could feel throughout the entire talk was fear and resentment for myself, for not keeping you safe with me. I just needed you."

"I'm here now, baby. Don't blame yourself. I told you that." Jimin whispers.

"I hear you." Jungkook nods and his voice is muffled against Jimin's neck. "I hear his words now and I understand what he meant, but I wouldn't listen to him then. It was like I was deaf to everything anybody tried to tell me when I couldn't.. find you."

Jimin lets that sink in for a moment. He works to steady his breath so Jungkook won't realize that it's already hurting to hear him talk about this. It hurts to place himself in Jungkook's position, to think about the pain he went through in his absence.

"I was so scared." Jungkook's hand finds the fabric of Jimin's shirt again and he squeezes it in his fist. He's still scared. He's afraid to let go. He's an idiot for thinking he could ever let Jimin leave to be with his parents, to worry for him from far away and to hurt him by pushing him away like that. "I'm scared now. I'm afraid to lose you and to go back to that place, that state of mind. Because, it hurt without you. Everything just hurt."

"Baby," Jimin curls his body around his boyfriend. His hand laces between the locks of Jungkook's hair and his leg lifts to hook around the others waist. He holds him for a quiet minute and he can feel Jungkook's hot breath against his skin before soft whimpers float up to his ears. He didn't know it could hurt so much to share another persons pain, until he fell in love with the man in his arms. "I won't let you go back there, not ever. I won't let you be scared."

"I won't let anybody take you. Not ever." Jungkook chokes on his words, almost unintelligible in the confines of Jimin's body warmth. "I won't let you go."

A small smile graces Jimin's lips, through the sadness of their hardships. "Don't let me go. I only feel safe when I'm with you."

"I'm going to keep you safe."

"I know." Jimin pulls back, only to grab onto Jungkook's puffed cheeks with the sorrow evident in his red eyes. "You always do. You always take me away from anything that scares me, anything that hurts me. You do everything, and it makes me feel guilty because when I was.. gone, I wasn't as scared. I knew that you would save me somehow. I knew that you wouldn't give up, because you love me."

"Weren't you scared, Mochi?" Jungkook coughs, sniffling back his emotions that he let get carried away. He feels Jimin's fingers on his cheeks, wiping away the wet tears that stain them.

Jimin nods. He presses his forehead against Jungkook's. "Mm, I was scared at first. He was forceful and harsh and he did things to purposely make me afraid of him, but," He breaths out slowly when Jungkook visibly shrinks from the recount of what happened. "I knew the whole time that you would find me, and that even if he was angry and sarcastic, you were the one that would make everything okay in the end, and then I felt okay."

"You felt okay?"

"Yeah. I felt okay. I think you were more scared than I was, because you weren't with me to witness how much you made him crumble." Jimin laughs quietly. "I didn't know what you were saying to him then, but just knowing how hard you were trying to find me, calmed me. I knew you would find me. I wasn't scared anymore, I just needed to see you."

"I needed you back."

"I needed you, too." Jimin feels the familiar lump of his own emotions hit the back of his throat and he sighs. It's his turn to feel vulnerable now and he tucks his arm under Jungkook's to cuddle into the man's chest, his comfort. "I love you so much and I don't want you to be sad or feel guilty or be hurt by anything. I was scared without you, and when he tied my hands, when he made me stay in his bed, it was the most wrong I've ever felt. I missed you more than anything. I cried, my wrists hurt, I was hungry and tired and worried and I felt sick to my stomach. But, I just needed you. You're the only thing I thought about the whole time."

Jungkook feels at a loss for words. He encases the smaller boy in his arms again and he sighs. "Mochi."

"None of this happened because of you. It happened because of us, because the whole world is always going to try to tear apart anything that is good."

"Jimin."

"I'm not letting go of you, either. Never."

A/N: I swear that one day we will find all the fluff again, but I hope this is a good enough mix of fluff and angst for you guys for now! ^^
