Josh

I can tell by the look on her face and the fact that she's gone mute, that something is wrong. Her face is losing color as her mouth hangs wide open, completely in shock. It takes her a moment, but she glances up at me, then back at her phone, then back at me again.

It feels like this continuous motion goes on for minutes until she just leans back in her seat and starts rubbing her head. "This... this is fucked up..." she mumbles.

"What happened?" I try not to sound too forcefully interested, but I'm worried. I'm worried if something new has happened with Silence.

To be honest, I'm extremely worried for her safety. I don't even know why I'm so scared, but I just am. She's a grown adult and knows how to take care of herself, but the thought of anything at all happening to her bugs me beyond my own comprehension.

And a moment later, I found out I was correct about the problem being with Silence.

"Look at the capital letters," she points at her phone with a perplexed face as she speaks each individual letter slowly. "S. I. L. E. N. C. E."

My reaction is a bit different than hers. Instead of looking like I've seen a ghost, I feel my palms sweat and my face heat. Small beads start falling from my forehead and a deep, aggresive feeling forms in my chest. I'm pissed.

"Josh, are you oka-"

"I'm just so done with this, okay!?" I pound my fist on the table. "Just when we think that we won't be bothered, Silence just pops up and ruins everything," I look up at her and see her looking at me with a worried countenance. I don't think she's ever seen me angry. Not many people have.

"Silence runs this app... silence sends you threats... silence knows private things and won't leave us alone. Silence this, silence that-"

"Josh you need to calm dow-"

I lean forward and stare at her straight on. Our noses are almost touching as both of my fists plant themselves on the table. "Y/N," my voice comes out as a low, raspy whisper. "I'm finding them. No matter how long it takes me. Silence will NOT run my life and threaten people I care about."
