Josh

"Dude, you really need to get off that app," I hear Tyler say from behind me as I recline on the couch. I roll my eyes slightly and hear his shuffling movements stop.

"I'm serious. Why do you need to be on some clique app?" He says. His voice does not travel at all so it is obvious he stopped moving. I suddenly feel my hat being pulled off from the top of my head. I shoot up and glare at Tyler, who has a smug grin on his face.

"You don't get this back until you explain," he smirks and I roll my eyes again.

"Fine. I got it so I could thank some of our fans for being there for us..." I mumble quietly while trying to grab my hat from out of Ty's grasp, but he steps away from the couch so he's out of my reach.

"That is a nice idea, but why would you even expect them to believe you?" Tyler questions and folds his arms and the hat is behind his back.

"I dunno- I mean, we do live in Columbus so..." I frown and forget about my hat while sprawling out on the couch again.

"How many people do you talk to? I know you talk to that one girl," Tyler leans his head over the couch and looks at me.

"I was chatting with other people, but they blocked me and said to stop pretending to be Josh..." I groan and turn over on the couch, looking at the television.

"Whatever. I don't get you sometimes," I hear Tyler laugh as my hat is placed backwards on my forehead. As I hear him walk out of the room, I pull the hat off of my head and ruffle my hair for a moment, the bright yellow stands feel like silk through my fingers. I place the hat back on my head and smile.

I watch the movie for a little longer, but find myself distracted in thought. My mind keeps wandering back to that app. Fairly Local.

It's addictive in some way; you always find yourself wanting to log in to your account. As long as you have one friend, you're pretty much set. If that friend leaves, you find a new one. It's pretty simple and well developed, but I see how it could be dangerous since the people live close by. You need to be sure to protect your info and be 100% sure that the other person isn't a threat to you before you become close to them.

That's why I understand completely why Dunderwear, or Y/N, won't Skype with me.

It's not that I really care about skyping with her; it's just that it's almost instinct for humans to prove themselves. That's why I want to do it. I want to prove that I am Josh, and maybe I could make someone's day by doing that. I mean, I tried making clique members happy once on a website called Omegle, but what I saw... I can never unsee.

I end up pulling out my phone and scrolling through the lists of names that the app provides every morning, but none catch my interest. I go back to my friends list and remember the other clique member's reactions to my confession of who I was.

You're such a liar.

Are you really that much of a no lifer that you have to pretend to be Josh?

Just because I f**king live in Columbus doesn't mean I believe you. This isn't the first time someone has pretended to be Ty or Josh. Bye.

I didn't know that some of the clique could be so mean... but I guess I understand where they are coming from.

I take a sip of my redbull as I type in a message to the only person currently on my Fairly Local friends list. Y/N.

Redbullboy: can I vent about something?
