As a ship sets sail, leaving behind the ports of vale, a runaway cat, a stowaway monkey and a mourning fox are making their way to the island of menagerie.

The sole member of team DMNG that was able to escape the carnage at vale is now leaning over the edge of the ships railing with a thoughtful expression and her ponytail draped over her shoulder. Her new clothes; a white jacket completely zipped up, long black pants, black combat boots, her light blue, ice dust infused gloves, a pendant containing three dull, grey jewels with a single, shining red one next to them and her bow strapped to her back. Her blue eyes mask her sadness poorly before her attention is drawn towards a pair of familiar faces.

[Blake] "why are you following me?"
[Sun] "who says I'm following you? I just happened to want to take a trip to...uh..."
[Blake] "Menagerie."
[Sun] "right, there. The name just escaped me for a second is all."
[Blake] "And you just happened to get on this ship, at this port?"
[Sun] "...yes."
[Blake] "ugh."

Gwenn decides to join the conversation, mainly because it seems that Blake at least somewhat knows her way around the Faunus island.

[Gwenn] "you're... Blake? Right? And Sun?"
[Blake] "hm?"
[Sun] "huh? Who're you?"
[Gwenn] "my name's Gwenn. I'm a student from mistral."
[Sun] "okay? So what are you doing on a ship to Mengary?"
[Blake] "Menagerie. I swear you're doing that on purpose."
[Gwenn] "I'm... Looking for someone. Family."
[Sun] "oh? So you're a Faunus?"
[Gwenn] "well I-"
[Sun] "I mean, I'm pretty sure only Faunus live there right?"
[Blake] "it's true, and I don't see any Faunus traits on you."
[Gwenn] "that-!...it's true that I don't have them, but I did at one point..."
[Sun] "huh? Excuse me for maybe asking a dumb question but I didn't know you could just stop being a Faunus."
[Blake] "what do you mean 'you did at one point'? What happened?"
[Gwenn] "it's...complicated."
[Sun] "can't be anymore complicated than Blake."
[Blake] "Sun!"
[Gwenn] "that's...private."
[Sun] "oh? Then how do you expect us to believe you then?"
[Gwenn] "that-...you don't need to. I was simply going to ask Blake if she would be aright with helping me find a place to stay while I'm in Menagerie."
[Sun] "oh? Seems suspicio-"
[Blake] "I guess I could help you find a place to stay. It's not like I don't know my way around the place."
[Gwenn] "Thank you."

Disregarding Suns suspicions, Blake offers her help for a short time and Gwenn gratefully accepts. Sun raises his finger and attempts to make another protest but, as if on cue, the ship begins to tremble.

[Sun] "wh-huh?"
[Gwenn] "what's going on?!"

The captain of the ship runs up to them in a hurry, visibly distressed.

[Blake] "What's happening captain?!"
[Captain] "Grimm! A big one!"
[Gwenn] "What?!"

The ocean water spouts high into the air, raining down upon the passengers and crew of the wooden ship. When the water clears, an enormous Grimm is seen to have erupted from beneath the waves.

[Sun] "okay, yeah, that's definitely big."
[Gwenn] "How are we meant to take that thing on?!"
[Captain] "we're preparing the cannons now, I just came out here to see if you hunters could help at all!"
[Blake] "we will!"
[Sun] "we will?!"
[Gwenn] "this can't be happening..."

While Gwenn begins to cower before the giant serpent, Blake rushes forwards with Sun in tow, leaping off the boat and onto the Sea Dragon.

[Gwenn] "they're insane..."
[Captain] "you're not gonna help?"
[Gwenn] "..."
[Captain] "alright, suit yourself but if you're so afraid of dying, you need to ask yourself why you're a huntress in the first place."
