>>EDIT: Hello! This is a Klance one shot book (you probably already read that in the title oops). So, I wanted to give a warning, this first one is kinda sad.. I think, I mean I don't know how well it turned out. Uh Keith dies in this one shot, so yeah. But! The other ones shots are a lot happier! I mean, I do write some angst, but no one really dies except in this one. And if they do, I will say so :)) <<

Was he a star now?

One of the million?

Shining down upon all of us?

Blinking friendly?

Forever and ever there?

Never changing?

Was he a star?

Lance liked to believe so. He liked to believe he was a star. His star. Shining for him. Blinking at him. Forever.

Lance believed Keith could see him, high up in the sky. Protected him, even.

-----------

White.

White, everywhere you looked.

Lance never really liked white. It was a meaningless color.

But now he hated it.

He hated how cold it was, how distant. He hated how it was everywhere. How it dominated this room, the hall beyond the door and the rest of the building.

The slow beeps coming form the device measuring the heartbeats of the poor boy in the bed, echoed through Lance's head.

He didn't want to look up. Didn't want his eyes to meet the heartbreaking scene in front of him.

A boy, once so full of energie, jumping at every chance at a competition, lay now almost lifeless in a hospital bed. His skin almost transparent. His eyes lay deep in his eye sockets.

Keith coughed weakly. "L-Lance?" He tried to lift his head to look at his boyfriend, but his muscles didn't want to. "Lance, are you still there?"

Lance looked up, and saw Keith struggling to keep his head up. "Yes, I'm here." He stood up and crossed the room to stand at the side of Keith's bed. He reached out to grab Keith's hand, and gave it a light squize.

"You know I love you, right?"

Oh. So we were going to have the conversation.

"Y-Yes I know that. And I love you too." He wispered as he looked down at their intertwined hands. He felt the uncomfortable pressure of tears behind his eyes.

It was silent for a moment before Keith spoke again.

"Maybe I'll become a star."

Lance looked up. And his eyes met Keith's. They looked tired. No, exhausted. Exhausted from fighting againts the evil bacteria slowly destroying him.

"I hope I become a star." He looked out the window, where the night sky spread. Thousends, millions of stars standing there. Blinking friendly.

It was unfair. It was just so unfair. He was only nineteen. He wasn't supposed to die. He was supposed be in college. Learning new things. He was supposed to have not a single care in the world, to be running through freshly fallen leaves, swimming in the sea. Walk on the moon. Reach the stars.

Lance had lost the battle with his tearducts. The tears now streaming down his face silently.

Keith didn't notice until he felt a tear drip on his hand. He looked up at his boyfriend.
