"Good job today, team. I'll write down the time that you leave, so feel free to go right now." The manager said. I began to walk to the lockers so I could get my stuff. I grab my bag and leave, but not before saying goodbye to everyone. It was dark out. Very dark. I know Gloria always worries about me being out this late, but I always assure her that I'll be safe.

There weren't any cars out this late in night. As I approached home, I saw Mom's car parked in the driveway. Shit. I'm going to be in a fuckload of trouble. I open the door with my house keys.

"HAI YANG LI!" My mom yelled. I'm screwed.

"Yes mom?" I ask. I already know what the answer is going to be.

" Why are you home so late!" I look away.

"I was at work, mom." I said calmly, looking her straight in the eye.

"YOU DON'T NEED TO WORK. YOU CAN RELY ON ME AND MARCOS!" Mom yells again. Marcos comes out of the bedroom, confused about the commotion. He sees me and glares.

"It's not like you two help me with anything, or even help me." I muttered, heading to my room.

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR ACCUSATIONS, YOUNG LADY. GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Mom yells.

"I already am." I retorted, opening my door and closing it slowly.

" AND DON'T SLAM YOUR DOOR AT ME!" Mom yelled. It's not like I even did slam my door, so I don't understand what she's talking about. Is she drunk? No, she's not. I look at the few things in my room. I've bought everything in my room, so it's not like anything here is hers. I looked over at my apartment savings. I currently have 203.87 pounds. I'm saving up for an apartment. I check my needs savings. I have 67.98 pounds in that one. I sit on my sleeping bag. I need to know what job I'm going to be getting. I can't stay as a tutor for the rest of my life, of course. Even if the pay is 12 pounds an hour. It's nearly the end of the month, so I'll be getting my paycheck soon. I can't wait until that happens. I should get... around 100 pounds.

I could hear Marcos and Mom talking.

"Beatrice... Beababy." Marcos muttered. I heard footsteps walking away, presumably to the bedroom. I hated the idea of ending up with any siblings. I snuggled into my sleeping bag and set my alarm.

I wake up feeling a bit fresher. I still have the previous night's fight still implanted into my brain, so I feel a bit salty. Last night I had set my alarm earlier, so I could deposit my money into the bank. I'm sure that today Mom is working until 12:00 instead of earlier than 11:00. I pulled off my pyjamas and pulled on my school uniform. I don't bother with saying bye, I already have all my stuff. I'm ready to go. Heading down the street, I walk on the sidewalk. I stopped at the Bank of Manchester and headed to the ATM. Quickly, I put in my card and my money. I then recieved my card back and placed it in my wallet, heading to school. Gloria and Finn are probably already halfway there.I saw them, holding hands. A leaf fell in front of my face and I grabbed it. I probably have around 1500 pounds in the bank anyways. What's the point of even staying there? Everything there I can just stuff into my suitcase. Apartments only allow you to get one if you are 15 or above that age. I turn 15 in October, which is 3 days from today. My birthday is on October 5th.

"Gloria... Finn... Celeste... Theo... Cleve... " I muttered. Reciting my friends names made me feel better. I really don't know why.

I caught up to my friends.

"Gloria!"l called out. When Gloria turned around to face me, a smile on her face, I felt weird. That's when I realized. I couldn't feel the colors.

I suddenly woke up, gasping for breath. I checked the alarm next to me.

"T-that's clearly A-a dream!" I muttered loudly. I got up, and decided to change. I think my current color is crimson because of that dream. Rent an apartment so early? The age I'm allowed to rent an apartment is 17. Well, that's without a guaranter.

I remembered the letter my parents recieved when they were trying to rent me an apartment last year.

Well, Gloria's parents are also my guardians too. The Dirksens are close family friends so... Should I go for it? I have enough money to pay for rent every month...

It's be wrong to do that to them... right? The Dirksens do know about the whole Marcos and me issue. They'd be standing in as my guardians, while I'd live alone in my apartment... or I could live with Gloria. They'd probably feel more at ease if Gloria was living with me. I finished putting on my uniform and grabbed my money. I shoved the money inside of my bag and began heading out of the house. All the leaves were falling.

" Leaf me alone!" Gloria said, shaking a leaf in Finns face. Finn laughed and gently pushed her away.

I head the other way. The Bank of Manchester is only two blocks away. I didn't think Gloria and Finn would be up this early. Oh yeah... Finn and Gloria wake up early to wait for me. I quickly pull out my flip phone and text Gloria, telling her to go without me. I don't need to be late waiting for me. Gloria calls me.

"WHERE ARE YOU!" She yells into the phone. I back away from the phone.

"I'm heading to the Bank of Manchester. I'm going to deposit some money. Go without me." I said, and end the call.

We have our homework, which is about what we are doing next break. Next break is for Harvest Festival break. It's one week, so I won't be doing much. But for Winter Break, which is two weeks, I'm going to go see my family in China. Alone.
