I was confronted by my girlfriend in the evening. We talked about things regular couples talk about. Topics like our day in general. I had an exams and she had an activity. It was just a regular student life. Later during our conversation, she brought up that she's upset. Upset about what happened earlier during the day. I got a little too cozy with her when I pinched her at her sides. She realized later that day that I have the capacity of hurting her. After all, people who you love can easily make you happy the same way they can hurt you. After trying to fix our relationship, as it was on the verge of falling apart, she called it off. Saying that we would be better off as friends. She gave me a year, a year to court her and try to win her back. Only after a year will she answer me. I'll be honest, I was really saddened at first. I then realized that unlike others, I was given a chance to fix myself. A chance to restore WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN.
I imagined that this evening will be like normal evenings. We'd have a video call, talking about our future. Learning more of each others' likes and dislikes. Topics about what we'd like to have in a house or our room would pop up. I remember during my single days, I would usually just play games or watch my problems away. She definitely reminded me of how great reality can be. And I thank her for it.
