Chapter 4

"Who put that in your head Naruto?" I ask

"Oh! Mizuki-sensei did. He told me about this scroll, where to find it, and about this place!" Naruto shouts.

"Mi..zu..ki?" Sensei said slowly.

Out of nowhere Kunai and shurikin were thrown at us.

Sensei pushed Naruto and I out of harms way, while he was struck with the weapons.

"So I see you found my little hiding place Iruka, oh well. Naruto give me the scroll!" Mizuki was heard in the tree's.

"Don't listen to him Naruto! Mizuki was using you to get the scroll. Lord knows what he'll do if he gets it!" Iruka shouts

"Wha-? What's going on?" Naruto says looking back and forth between Mizuki and Iruka.

"What's going on is Iruka is just worried that you'll take the scroll and use it to get revenge on the villagers. After all you did kill his parents."

"What are you talking about?"

"No Mizuki! You can't!" Iruka screams.

"Oh but I can. I'm talking about, the decree. The decree that everyone knows about but you. Your so called friend here has been lying to you your whole life."

"STOP IT!!!" Iruka cried out.

"I don't understand. What is this decree, and why am I the only one who doesn't know?"

Mizuki chuckles. "The decree is that you're the demon fox! Haven't you ever wondered why the villagers looked at you with so much hatred? Why they despised you so much? The Nine tailed fox that killed Iruka's parents is inside you!!"

"Minako, and your beloved Sensei have been lying to you your entire life! They don't care for you! They pity you! They're scared that if you don't get some type of compassion, you'll lash out and destroy the leaf once again!!"

Naruto looked at me.

His eyes were filled with anger.

Despair.

Confusion.

And heartbreak.

"NOW DIE DEMON FOX!!!" Mizuki threw a huge ass shurikin type thing at Naruto and I.

It seemed like out of instinct Naruto hovered over me, and sensei covered us both.

Blood dripped out of sensei's mouth, as well as tears streamed down his face.

Naruto still didn't face him, he kept his eyes closed.

"Why...?"

"Because...I was just like you. When my parents died, I felt so alone. It seemed like if you didn't have parents, you weren't important. So I became the class clown to get attention, and it made me feel important again when people would laugh. But I was still alone. I was so hard on you Naruto..because I wanted different for you. I didn't want you to take the same path I did."
Iruka sobbed.

Naruto narrowed his eyes and took off running.

"Naruto!" Iruka-sensei and I shout at the same time. I take off after him, leaving sensei and Mizuki alone.

I find Naruto in a clearing. Sitting up against a tree, crying.

"Naruto!" I call.

He looks up at me.
"Tell me it isn't true! Is this really why everyone hates me? Am I really the nine tails!?"

I look down at my feet.
"Naru-"

"So it is true! You hate me! You've just been scared of me all these years! You never ca-"

The sound of a hand hitting a face filled the atmosphere.

"DON'T YOU DARE PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH UZUMAKI!"

The blonde stared startled at the pinkette.

"Do you have any idea how many times my heart has broke when I see you cry? How often I think about your well being? I was trying to protect you Naruto!" I shout, clearly very hurt.

"From who!" He shouted back just as loud.

"From yourself. You feel like your responsible for Iruka's parent's deaths, for all of the lives that were lost that day, don't you?
I knew that you would tear yourself apart if you knew."

"Minako..." Naruto said as he blushed.

"I said it once before, and I'll say it again.
I will stay by your side, and help you through your hard ships. Because Naruto Uzumaki, you are my best friend!"

Without thinking, Naruto walked to me, cupped my cheek, and smashed his lips onto my own.

It's okay to kiss your bestfriend, right?

It felt as if something sparked in me. A new feeling. It was warm, and fuzzy.

It seemed to have activated by Naruto's touch. Because it's new.

I've never felt it before.

But with Naruto's lips on my own, moving in sync. One hand on my waist.

It kept building up.

My legs felt weak.

My head was spinning.

My stomach was doing somersaults.

Could this be....

Awakening love?

Oh shit...

Have I fallen for the leaf village's
number one knuckleheaded ninja?

I believe I did...
