August

I sat in my room doin' my homework that I most definitely forgot I had.

My do' opened and Travis came in while lighting a blunt.

"Wassup wit you and Zel" He spoke before takin' a puff and passin' it ta me.

"Yo' big mouth ass told ha' what happened between me and Leste, so she thinks I should go back to my therapy sessions."

"Maybe you should -- Nadia was a big help, and don't you think you should clear some things befo' you and Zel get too too deep in ya lil relationship?"

"I think we doin juh fine."

"You might think dat but she don't"

I gave Travis a look that let him know i was listenin.

"Don't forget she just got out of dat abuse shit wit her stepdad -- Shit, I'd wanna make sho' yo crazy ass stable too."

I laughed at the end of his sentence and shook my head.

"Na' listen, I'ma call ma baby Nadia up and she gon' continue ta deal wit yo issues -- And yo ass betta' not give up this time. You my younga' brother Aug and I'd hate ta see you angry like dis' fa the rest of ya life."

"I hea' you man. I 'preciate you"

"Mhm -- Now gon' talk ta Isolation."

I stale faced him because he always making fun of Izel name.

We walked out my room and went different ways. Me, going to Izel's room.

"Baybeh" I knocked on ha' do'.

"Come in!" I heard ha shout.

I opened the do' and saw she had none but a towel wrapped around ha'.

I licked my lips and smirked at her.

"You gettin' naked fa me already mama?"

"You wish." She giggled. "Turn, please."

I turned and then I remembered what I came in hea' fuh.

"I'm sorry bout earlier -- I talked ta Trav and he gon talk to my therapist about me going back. I know the situation you just got out of and I understand why you think I should go."

"It's okay August. I didn't mean to pressure you or anything either. If you don't like it, you don't have to go -- Maybe I could help you."

I chuckled and shook my head. She really don't know how I angry I can get if she offerin' ta help.

"Nah, I appreciate it baybeh but only a professional can help me out."

I turned around once she sat next ta me.

"Do you think -- Nevermind." She shook her head and walked ova' to ha mirror.

"Nah, talk ta me."

"I don't want to say anything that'll get you mad."

It hurt that she was scared ta talk ta me because of my reactions ta some stuff. But honestly, the way Zel would put shit wouldn't make me as mad. If she woulda told me she hated me, I'd prolly say I love you too, yet if someone else was to say they hate me, i'd have a fit.

"I won't get mad, I promise."

She looked at me before she started speaking.

"Well -- Do you think your anger got worse when your brother passed away?"

Ain't no one eva' ask me dat, but I sure as hell know they was all thinking it.

"Uh -- Not angry, nor depressed. I just -- I don't know. I've been like dis since middle school. My brother passed when I was still going to Nadia."

"Who's Nadia?"

"Nadia is my therapist."

"Oh. Well, we don't have to talk about it anymore. I'm just glad you decided to go."

"You lucky I love yo ass," I planted a kiss on her forehead "Or else I wouldn't be goin' back."

"Whatever." She giggled.

She thought I was playin.

"Aye Ya-- Get yall lovey dubby asses up. Mama wanna talk ta us."

"Aight."

We got up and walked downstairs seeing mama at the couch on ha' phone.

I looked by the do' and frowned.

She had her bags packed.

"They kissey asses hea' na' wassup?" Travis asked, also earning a death glare from mama.

"Boy don't rush me to tell you my business. I could have just upped and left. Anyways, I'm going on this business vacation with my girls, yall know Latoya and Wanda -- We're gonna be in Florida for the rest of this month, which means i'll be back in three weeks. Y'all know the basic rules, correct?"

"Yes ma'am." We all said.

"You're really gonna leave me here with dumb and dumber?" Izel joked.

"I know, I'll pray fa' you -- And if they do something you know I wouldn't like, I can trust you to call me?"

"Yes ma'am. I'm sure nothing will go wrong, just go and have fun." I smiled.

She talkin' like we ain't olda' than ha or like she some typa' babysitta.

"Okay, I love y'all."

"Love you too mama."

"And stay safe around them dread heads."

"And them alligators."

"And any nigga that try ta get ya number, give him mine. He gotta have my permission befo' trynna holla at my momma." Travis said wit a smirk.

"Oh hush." Mama laughed. "Keep my house clean, jits!"

"Look at ha, already pickin' up on the florida slang." I laughed.
