A boy and a girl met on day, the moment his eyes laid on her, he knew he had fallen for her. The girl felt nervous but nothing more, nothing less. The boy tried to talk and get her to interact with him. But the girl felt nervous around him, actually all men so she tried to avoid him for a while. The boy didn't give up though. He continued to work on getting her to notice him, anything that would let him stay in her mind. He confessed those feelings, the ones close to his heart. But the girl was scared, she didn't know what relationship would come out of this. So she ran from him, not trying to hurt him but not knowing what to do. Even though it might have wounded him a bit he chased after her.
He followed, traveled, wandered until he found her once again. The girl, she felt tired from the chase and was a bit enticed by him. He tried again, telling her that it can wait. Comforted by this she let him be captured by her, but only in body and mind, her heart was still running not willing to be captured as well. They now walked closer, at a shoulder length away but the walked at the same pace. They chatted, talked, mingled and giggled. But the boy had to leave for a while but he promised that they would smile again at each other, soon. They still texted, called and got to learn new things. But she felt a bit empty inside, she brushed aside as a child would with an old toy. As time passed by they were able to smile with each other again under the sun and the heat of the season.
This time was a bit different, the girl felt a strange pull towards the boy. She wanted to be with the boy, the stood closer to each other, so close that they could hold hands. And soon they were, closer than friends could be. The girl and boy were happy. But only for a short while. The girl's family began to have problems, she was worried and couldn't tell anyone what was going on. Then the girl began to think of the boy. She didn't want him to get hurt, even if it would hurt him in the end. She wanted to keep the boy unharmed, pure and beautiful just like he always was. So she decided, even though it was only a short while off warmth. She had to let go of his soft, kind brown hands.
They sat down, they talked, they were sad. The moment the girl saw his face, beautifully breathtaking sorrow and pain. She knew she has fallen for him as well, that was the reason she couldn't cry after hearing his hollow voice and quivering lips. She avoided him, tried not to think about him, to not feel the things she missed when it came to him. But eventually she knew she wouldn't be able to fool everyone about how she felt when it came to him. And once again they had to leave each other again but this time, no one was telling her that they would smile once again.
The girl returned to her home and went to her room, all alone by herself. Before she realized it tears fell out her eyes, almost as if the were gushing waterfalls after a rain filled with thunder and lighting. Chokes and gasps flew out of her mouth, she wrapped her arms around her ribs. Clutching on to them tightly, as if she could keep herself from falling out of her body. She screamed, cried, yelled, sang and pleaded, wishing the air could talk back and comfort her. But no came, no one cared as her heart slowly broke into pieces when she fell into darkness. Time went on and she wanted to text the boy for months on end but she wasn't sure. She had remember that look, pain coursed through heart. Eventually she texted the boy again, and told him what she had been feeling for the past few months they had been apart. The girl was scared, scared that he may say he wouldn't want her anymore. That he no longer cared for her in that way anymore.
In truth, the boy had been feeling the same way and accepted her back into his life. She was overcome with tears of joy, the darkness she had felt was lighter. Things became brighter before her eyes and once again she was filled with joy. They became closer, even though the thousands of miles away from each other. It felt like they were holding each other's hands once again. As time continued on she felt this urge, she wanted him, to hold her, to comfort, to kiss her, to love her. Flustered by her own thoughts she brushed them out of the way. She was able to tell the boy she loved him, this was special because she never told anyone this unless it was true. He said he loved her too. She wanted to say more but she never told the boy all of the things she wanted to say.
They had been holding hands for a long time now, then it happened. She could feel the boy slowly drawing away from her. He didn't say good morning or good night to her anymore. He didn't say I love you or called me beautiful anymore. The girl could tell, she knew that she may have to let go of his hand again. But she didn't want to let go of his hand anymore, she wanted to hold on even if it took all of her life out her. She began to deny the truth of it, they didn't talk anymore, they didn't text as often as they did. He called her one day and told her what had been on his mind for the past month.
Which would be the last month out of the ten months they had been together.
"I really like you...I do, I'm not lying about this. But I know that this is getting too hard...for both of us." He sighed. "I just...I just don't think we will work out in the end. Please don't cry... I know this has been hard, I know that you have probably cried over me but... I don't want you to, I want you to be happy. Thank you. I have to go." God, she loved him, she loved him so much, she felt the tears in her eyes as she was weeping she knew and understood what he meant. She wanted to be happy, but how could she be happy when her heart was non-existed and the love of her life had just walk out of her heart. She cried until she realized that the sun was setting. She went on with her life, trying to not think about him. Before she realized a month had already passed by.
She still loved the boy with all her heart and didn't feel bad about it. She couldn't look at anyone the way she looked at the boy. Even though he may not hold my hand anymore, we can still walk next to each other. And he can forever hold my heart in his hand, because it's not willing to be given to anyone but his beautiful brown hands.
