Ch 107 (kyle)- The Devil is Sly

"Jake mentioned that the box might be empty." Kyle replied replacing the lid to fit back on the box not bothering to retie the bow.

"Oh, good you talked to Jake." Alicia said not caring that Kyle didn't retie the bow either which was unlike her.

"Yes, he's on his way home. Jake is leading Anna back here." Kyle said not meeting Alicia's eyes. He climbed on the couch to uncover Alicia and settle in with her under the thick blanket so she could put her head on his chest. The fire was already making a difference in heating the room but there was nothing like the closeness of their own heat created together... ever.

"Now tell me exactly what is going on with Harmony and Stacy." Kyle asked.

Alicia told Kyle the details about Stacy after she left from home to meet Tiffany and Maria for shopping which is what they had done all morning. Stacy was buying shoes and was looking in a store mirror when Harmony encountered her.

"I don't know exactly what was said between the two girls, but Stacy had complained about the situation to Tiffany and Maria during a meal they shared after she walked away from Harmony. From what I gathered Harmony was angry because she was wearing Anna's sweater and asked for it back. Stacy refused to give it to her and said she was going to wait until Anna got back to return it. The girls weren't pleasant to each other as there were snide remarks made that didn't seem like a big deal. The whole time was only a few minutes and both girls walked away from each other in different directions without yelling or getting physical. Harmony was shopping with Bryce who walked away in the beginning because he knows both girls well and everyone knows they don't get along. I am Stacy's mother and I even know Stacy and Harmony don't get along." Alicia said. Kyle made a few mental notes so he didn't have to move from his wife.

"Stacy then ran into Skyler but that was only for a few seconds because he was with friends. He was on his way into the stores as Stacy was leaving them to lunch with her friends so their conversation was in passing. Tiffany also told me that Stacy told Skyler she didn't want to talk to him. He had yelled out to Stacy that Harmony had drugged him. Stacy wasn't sure if she believed him or not but didn't want to deal with it before her trip." Alicia said. Kyle's mind became alert and he almost groaned out loud but didn't want to upset his wife. However it was often that he forgot she had mind reading skills.

"What's wrong?" Alicia asked.

"Tell me the rest then we'll talk out what we know." Kyle replied. He was dreading telling her that Jake said Anna had drugged him and what had happened after. He was sure she was going to freak out and he was doing everything in his power not to have a panic attack himself. Alicia looked up at him in question but continued because she knew how important it was to list the details before going over any of them.

"The girls ate and discussed separating to do different things before they left to meet up at the hotel in Portland before having an eight o'clock dinner they had booked in a nearby restaurant. Stacy said she had a few errands to run and would be sure to meet up with them. They day was calm without snow, but then the storm started to bring a high wind when they were shopping and was falling heavy by the time they parted to go do their personal agendas which was around two o'clock in the evening. Maria and Tiffany were driving together on the trip and met up at the hotel room that we had already paid for around seven o'clock because the snow storm made it hard to drive through. They waited at the room for Stacy until the last minute before they had to be at the restaurant for their reservation. They ate then again waited for another half an hour after just in case Stacy got caught up in the storm like they had. The snow hadn't even let up until around two in the morning so they figured Stacy pulled off somewhere until the snow stopped long enough to drive. They figured she would meet them sometime during Wednesday before their show started. They kept leaving messages but Stacy never returned any of them. They explored the campus and went to the show which was last night." Alicia finished. She looked up at him and he could tell she was looking to him for answers for which he had many but probably not ones she wanted.
